I unfortunately had to move my vet closer to home bc with a new baby in the way, life is bound to get more hectic. I used to live closer to this location and when I moved away, continued to bring all 3 pets here bc I love the service, staff, and doctors at West Alabama. And cats are not as mobile but I continued to do so. Usually we are seen promptly, they have an app that I can chat with their staff to and have access to my pets records. And all the docs are lovely. It’s overall been a great experience and I’m sad to leave this clinic. Thank you West Alabama Animal Clinic for taking care of my fur babies!

We’ve been bringing our puppy here since February and we love it! Everyone there is so kind, the vet techs always seem so happy to see our little guy and make an effort to make sure he’s comfortable and cared for. Dr. Parham is very knowledgeable and kind. They’ve helped us stay on top of routine stuff like vaccines and checkups, and we had a great experience getting him neutered there. They truly care a lot here and do a great job!

I have been a client at West Alabama Animal Clinic for many years. Their pricing has generally felt fair for the area. In one instance, tests were run on on of my dogs without prior authorization; while the clinic did ultimately refund those charges (which I appreciated), standard practice should require discussing and approving costs in advance. The most disappointing experience, however, was during my senior dog’s final illness. When he became critically ill, I reached out seeking care but was told they were fully booked and could not see him. We sought care elsewhere, where his condition was promptly assessed and a clear treatment plan was provided. Shortly after, we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize him. What compounded our grief was the lack of follow-up or acknowledgment. There was no check-in after referring us elsewhere, no expression of sympathy after being notified of his passing, and we later received an automated vaccine reminder for a dog who was no longer alive. After nearly a decade as a client, I expected clearer communication and greater compassion during such a difficult time.

West Alabama Clinic has been taking care of my cats for years. They are so kind and knowledgeable. They don’t judge when I struggle as a cat parent and consistently guide me towards a better life for my pets. The cats are always visibly happier after a visit (even the rough ones). I wouldn’t trust anyone else from grooming to surgeries.

West Alabama Animal Hospital is extended family for us Davises, human and feline. Our sixteen years of interdependence with domestic house cats has been holistically supported with kindness and cutting edge veterinary medicine flowing from the clinic. Everyone is great, I especially appreciate Dr Haffey. Star, the front desk people whose names escape me at this moment, and really all the technicians.

Recently my cat, Mango, became very ill and ultimately developed a large abscess on her head. Dr. Dany was very sweet and loving to my baby girl. She was knowledgeable and very flexible with her schedule to squeeze us in for evaluations/tests/follow up visits. I can’t say enough great things about this vet clinic and its staff, especially Dr. Dany! I will recommend them to all of my friends!
