So far our experience at Hoboken Vets has been great. My dog gets seriously anxious in vets' offices since she had surgery a few years ago, but she was treated with that in mind, which I appreciated. They also allowed me to be in the room with her the entire time during her annual exam, which makes a huge difference (she's a nervous girl, especially when I'm not around). The other thing that I appreciated is that they didn't try to "upsell" to me (aside from simply asking if I wanted to get flea meds, etc., through them, which is fine). That's important--I stopped going to several other vets because they either sold (expensive) stuff my dog didn't need, or, worse, tried to push completely unnecessary tests and procedures. I love my dog, and I'll always give her what she needs, but some of the "suggestions" were just ludicrous (that was mostly at the place on Washington Street). When her lab results came in, I got an email with a very detailed explanation of them, and another one after I responded with some questions. And the staff was very pleasant. So far, so good!

I can’t say enough about how GREAT Hoboken Vets have been to our two girls. Our dog Zoey (Shih Tzu) has had health issues all her life, she’s 8. The Dr Friedman, Dr Dawn, and Surgical Nurse Nicole have given Zoey a new life. She has had two major surgeries with them and now acts like she is a puppy again. Zoey had 40 teeth removed, Nares surgery, Cyst removed off her neck, and has been in water therapy for her back legs that pop out of place. Not only is her health 100%, she’s happy! These three women hold a special place in our hearts. 💕

I brought my cat in today and I’m so happy with our visit. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Dr. Sydney Friedman is an angel. My cat was so calm inside the examination room. Let everyone pet her, was sitting calmly the entire time and didn’t even cry during her shot. That is absolutely not like her at all, she’s a little drama queen. I cannot recommend them enough! What are usually very stressful trips to the vet turned out to be the most positive and pleasant one we ever had!

This place is clean, easy to get to, professional, friendly! We arrived 10 minutes early to fill out paper work and then 5 minutes later the Vet grabbed us and our puppy. Super experienced, friendly with our puppy and answered all our questions! Also the front desk girl was perfect! Was ready for us when we showed up and took care of us immediately. 10 out of 10 experience with this place. THANK YOU!

Great communication and cleanliness. You can tell that the technicians/vets/receptionists are animal people! It’s scary bringing a cat to the vet because cats are so uncomfortable in new settings, but they gave him a churu treat while he got his exam and shots and he honestly had a great time! We also had a photo shoot during his visit!!

I waited over a year to write this : Our dog was a patient at Hoboken Vets for 5 years. We developed a strong relationship with our vet and truly loved them. Unfortunately our dog had a condition he required surgery for and that’s when things went south. About a month or so post-surgery, our dog was bleeding from the incision site. We brought him in, they gave antibiotics and a topical and that was it. The surgeon did not acknowledge WHY this may have happened. When I reached out to Hoboken Vets management team after not seeing an improvement / complications with recovery, they REFUSED to meet with me to discuss a plan of action moving forward to care for our dog. When we informed them we were leaving the practice after 5 years, they did not even bat an eye. Our dog recently had another bloody episode near the incision site (1 full year post surgery). We paid and took time to see a specialist (2x), and they indicated something may not have been fully removed during the initial surgery. So now - after the surgery, after thousands of dollars spent, recovery time, specialist costs….our dog’s condition has still not improved, and even worse, we may have to do a second surgery to FIX WHAT THEY DIDNT DO THE FIRST TIME. I believe there was malpractice, their management team is unprofessional, and because they are corporately owned and run, all this office cares about is money. They DO NOT care for the well being of your dog nor do they value relationships with pet parents. It’s extremely disappointing.
