Brookview Animal Wellness Veterinary Hospital & Spay/Neuter Clinic

5.4

Address is a commendable veterinary clinic that prioritizes the comfort and well-being of pets and their owners. The personalized care they provide is evident in their approach to surgeries, allowing owners to stay with their pets during sedation, reducing trauma. Their clear communication and thorough instructions ensure a smooth recovery process, making it a reliable choice for pet owners.

While the friendly and calm staff contributes to a positive experience, there is room for improvement in explaining procedures and timings upfront. Despite some minor drawbacks, the dedicated team at Address has earned high praise for their compassionate and professional service, making it a trusted name in the veterinary community.

Took my 5 month old Golden Doodle for her spay. I was pleased that they didn't just take her from us and stuff her in a kennel while she waited for surgery. We were allowed to stay with her in the exam room while they gave her sedation in 2 stages and then they took her back to surgery directly from us. Way less trauma for her. The vet was fabulous and explained the whole thing. They also didn't make her stay longer than absolutely needed, knowing it is best to recover at home where she is comfortable. The only thing I wish was different is if the front desk folks would have fully explained that we were able to stay with her and the timing, since this a PLUS, but we were not prepared for it. After her surgery, instructions were well presented both verbally and in writing and even the prescription bottles had great instructions... I highly recommend this Vet.

Thank you for everything you do and for helping us and our dog Charlie. Working with us every step of the way and letting us know the facts up front. The receptionist is also super nice and calm. Carrie was great and Cheryl was also amazing. My dog is no longer in a life-threatening-emergency state and it’s all thanks to you guys. 🫶🏼 Even though I’m quite far from this vet, the multiple drives were well worth it.

Brookview completely failed my psychiatric service dog and forced me into a position of total duress. My dog had a severely distended belly, and his blood work came back with high cholesterol and triglycerides. Staff dismissed this as 'just IBS' and told me I was overreacting from internet research. High lipids and a pot-belly are textbook markers of Cushing’s Disease. Because Brookview refused to perform proper imaging or investigate these clear metabolic markers, my dog's health deteriorated until I was forced to surrender him to a shelter just to get him the ultrasound he desperately needed. Incompetent, dismissive care that rips service animals away from disabled veterans. Also I was seeing them through an assisting shelter and they never performed images of my dog just standard testing and pushed me to change his food to hydrolyzed or elimination. My dog is so picky. So he underwent even more trauma regarding food and would just lay in front of his bowl and look at me. I just don't understand. Also his weight gain despite diarrhea wasn't alarming to them. So off putting. I'm so upset. Literally had to surrender my dog yesterday due to care. But this place told me when I went in that "there are places that will take in your dog if you're unable to properly care for him". So I guess they got what they wanted.

What a lovely clinic! I had my large dog neutered here. They worked wonderfully with my PitBull/Rottweiler mix who is TERRIBLE with strangers. They made this experience great and had so much patience with my dog. Thank you all for your kindness.

I have used Brookview for feral spay & neuter plus care for a friendly we rescued. Recently the team did surgery for an injured feral and we're attempting to socialize during recovery. It is so important to have people not only trained and professional but personable and caring. So I keep coming back to Brookview for their above and beyond services where I now know everyone on a first name basis. Affordable - yes.

I cannot say enough about Brookview!! They LITERALLY are angels here on earth, from the receptionist, the techs, to the vetinarian... Actual angels!!! I took my cousin and her dog, Star in and Star ended up needing emergency surgery. Brookview was not going to turn my cousin away, no matter what financial situation my cousin presented. Star was going to be saved and she was!! Thank you Brookview for your generosity and genuine love and kindness! I wish there were more vets out there these days that truly loved animals and didn't put the mighty buck before anything and everything!!! I will not take my animals to any other vet!!! Thank you again, Brookview Animal Wellness!

I’m leaving 3 stars because I do believe the staff cares deeply about animals and I value the work they do for the cat community. My frustration is mainly with communication and organization, which I hope can improve. I truly believe everyone here loves animals and treats them with kindness and respect. My cat was always handled gently, and I appreciate that. I first brought my cat in for respiratory issues. Even though I had an appointment, it was a very busy day and I waited about 30 minutes before being seen. He was prescribed an antibiotic and another medication, and I was told at the appointment to give both twice a day. I specifically remember saying to the tech, "That’s easy to remember," and she agreed. The other medicine was easy to give, but the oral antibiotic was difficult and my cat threw it up a few times. When I reached back out, I was then told I was actually only supposed to give the antibiotic once a day, not twice. I adjusted it, and while it went okay once, the next dose caused him to vomit again and then have a coughing attack. I tried contacting the vet to ask what I should do and got no response. Since the medication did not resolve the issue, I brought my cat back for a follow-up. That appointment itself was quick and the wait was not long. The tech and vet recommended sedated X-rays to figure out what was going on, and I scheduled them for Friday. I was told to arrive at 7:00 AM, drop him off, and they would do the X-rays sometime during the day. When I arrived Friday (today) at 7:00 AM, no one was there and the door was locked. After waiting about five minutes, I saw someone inside and knocked. It was the maintenance man, who was incredibly kind and let me come inside to wait. After another 15 minutes passed with no one showing up, he and his wife tried to contact someone at the clinic and even the owner, but they couldn’t reach anyone. The sign on the door said they opened at 8:00 AM, so instead of leaving and coming back, I stayed. At 8:00 AM, still no one was there. Eventually, the maintenance man’s wife was told someone was finally on the way and that it was a "late start day." I really want to acknowledge how kind and helpful the maintenance man and his wife were. They kept apologizing, offered me water, and genuinely tried to help during a very frustrating situation. When someone finally arrived, I was then told I was not on the schedule and they could not find my paperwork, although thankfully they were still able to work my cat in after some waiting. Overall, I do believe the people here care about animals, and that matters a lot. But between the medication miscommunication, lack of response when my cat had a bad reaction, the scheduling confusion, and arriving for a procedure when no staff were present, the experience was much more stressful than it should have been. I hope they improve their communication and organization, because the compassion is there, but the follow-through needs work.
