I showed up for a follow up appointment for vaccines. I have a yearly wellness plan and these are included. This appointment had been on the books for 3 weeks. No one called to confirm or let me know there was anything wrong with my account. After checking in and being brought into a room, an employee came in and said I had a balance and they could not even look at my dogs file until I paid. They couldn’t even tell me what the balance was for. I paid my full balance at my prior appointment, so I asked for an explanation to what I paid then. She came back and said I didn’t clear my balance last appointment. I only paid for an eye procedure. My dog never received an eye procedure, he was there for his yearly visit that is completely covered by his plan. I had paid for his medication and a balance that was on his account. Looking back they never even explained what the intital balance was but I trusted them. They had no resolutions and couldn’t give me anymore information until I paid. The fact that no one called before the appointment, they couldn’t show my any records or receipts till I paid, and wasted my time coming up there are all bothersome. If this is what it takes to get some follow up vaccines, I will cancel my wellness plan and find another vet
This place used to be great but the entire staff changed and it really went downhill. There used to be a really personal touch to each visit and that's gone. Some of the people that work there are downright rude. I took my dog there for 10 years and she recently died. I called and told them and they said they'd update her records. That's it. I had scheduled her an appointment at Petfolk because I was switching vets but she died before she could make the appointment and they sent me a sympathy card. The ER vet that put her to sleep sent me a sympathy card. But the place that I took her to for 10 YEARS didn't care that she was gone. If you want a vet that cares for and loves your pet, don't go to Banfield.
We took our dog Duke here for emergency situation but guess he passed away before we reached there but they understood our attachment to him and how much we loved him. They put his body and us in a separate room to spend time and mourn. Many of our friends visited us there within a hour. Even though it was their closing time, they waited for us to close hospital. Everyone is very nice here. Wish Duke was alive so used them in future.
My dogs have been going to Banfield for years. We love Dr. Stone. I’ve tried the Banfield in PetCo because their extended hours. However, the others don’t compare. We bring both of our boys to this location as well as my parents two dogs. We got their teeth cleaned last week and I was so nervous. With the anesthesia needed I was very worked up that day. They were so nice and understanding and kept my boys safe. My adopted 8 year old boys teeth were bad when I adopted him and no mater how much I brushed them they wouldn’t get better. They sent him home with pearly whites. I would recommend.
They are always very nice and manage to squeeze me in without too many days of waiting. They're very patient with my dog and they even cut his nails when a lot of places won't even try just because he is a nervous boy. You can tell all their staff really cares for animals and that's the most important thing at a vet for sure.
Few weeks ago, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our 17 year old dog. Doctors and all the staff at Banfield in Flower Mound were incredibly kind and compassionate throughout the entire process. Even after the cremation, we received a heartfelt condolence card, which meant a lot to us. Although we were deeply saddened for several weeks, we felt immense gratitude for the kindness and support shown by everyone at the clinic. We just want to say thank you once again.
Can't recommend this Banfield at all. They don't call for reminders nor do they answer the phone when they open. I have two cats who are very friendly, and I've used other Banfield locations nearby without an issue. Sometimes they're not in the mood for blood work or nail trimming, so difficulty with that kind of thing I can understand. Cats aren't always cooperative. What I don't understand is how they handled my cats. They described one of my cats (Toby) as difficult to work with when they called me after the initial checkup. I thought that was strange considering his normal behavior and previous trips to the vet, but hey I wasn't there and he was fasting so maybe he was just in a bad mood today. When I get there, one cat was ready to go, but they had to call me to an exam room for Toby so I could help get him in the carrier. He was uncomfortable but nothing out of the ordinary. He didn't bite or scratch, nor has he ever. Not even a hiss. Plus, his claws were trimmed earlier. Immediately the problem reveals itself once I notice the small side door of the carrier is being used vs the large top entrance where they can be lowered in. Toby isn't a small cat. How would you feel if someone tried shoving you through a small door into a carrier? This is basic problem solving. Once I lowered Toby in and held him in place, the vet tech helped by zipping up the top and ended up doing it too fast so it cut my hand a bit. It happens, but they didn't even apologize? If they won't apologize to humans, what in the world are they doing to the poor animals back there? They did complete the work I asked for though, so two stars! $20 for a nail trim is insane, though.
