Colma Animal Hospital

I thought I sent one before. But I arrived in Bay Area mid 2021 with 2 senior dogs. They only went here after trying a few place around west bay. For appointments or nail trims. Until they crossed that rainbow bridge at the age of 14 for both Colma Animal Hospital took care of Doofie and Mika. Cancer surgeries, dental visits, chemo, basic checkups, prescription meds, flea and tick prevention. They did that all and amazingly well. Nothing too expensive, we had insurance. They worked with our schedules and took very good care of our dogs. We finally got a new puppy and went right back. Colma Animal Hospital and staff are truly the best. Wouldn't recommend anyone else.

I am extremely reluctant to take my dog back to this hospital! My Yorkshire Terrier previously had a dental cleaning with Dr Cruz, and everything always went smoothly. Unfortunately, Dr Cruz has since moved to another state. I booked a dental cleaning with Dr Bakari and was very disappointed; he extracted 15 of my Yorkshire’s teeth—unnecessarily, in my opinion! My dog’s teeth only had a few tartar stains. When Dr Cruz performed this procedure, my Yorkshire’s teeth were in terrible condition due to tartar build-up, yet he extracted only two teeth! I have lost all confidence in this veterinary practice. Be careful if you plan to take your dog there for a dental cleaning!

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience in this case. Over the years I’ve had increasingly disappointing visits with my dog at this hospital. The front desk staff is often unwelcoming and slow to acknowledge clients. Many of the vets/techs roughly handle the animals and make no effort to help them feel comfortable. My dog is already anxious about vet visits, and this approach only heightens her stress. It’s also been close to impossible to reach the office at times for follow-up questions about my dog’s care or copies of her records. While I believe the diagnoses and prescriptions have been accurate, the overall lack of compassion and attentiveness has made it clear that customer and animal care are not priorities here. I recommend seeking a different veterinary hospital where pets are treated with more kindness and respect

When I adopted my dog I wanted to be sure I could count on a Vet to be accessible when needed.That’s no easy task lately as I was very disappointed with my last vet when my previous dog became sick and eventually passed. This team and Dr Bhakhri have been lovely to deal with and have met my concerns with professionalism and the appropriate urgency when called upon. The office is clean and accessible with good parking. I have no problems recommending this office to anyone

Avoid this clinic if you rely on pet insurance. They cost me hundreds of dollars in reimbursements by ignoring multiple requests for medical records from my provider. I have spent three weeks trying to reach them via every possible channel (phone, text, email) with no response. It is heartbreaking to pay into a policy for a 13-year-old dog only to have the claim denied due to sheer administrative laziness. Unacceptable and unprofessional.

I am delighted to share my positive experience with Colma Animal Hospital. I have been coming here for over a decade and they have taken great care for our dogs over the years. The vet specifically my wife and I see is Dr. B. Dr. B is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable but also incredibly compassionate. He takes the time to listen to our concerns we have about our dogs and provides thorough explanations and guidance. It's evident that he prioritizes building strong relationships with both pets and their owners. I recommend Dr. B to anyone seeking outstanding veterinary care. Whether for routine check-ups or more complex medical issues, you can trust that your pet will receive top-notch treatment from a team that truly cares. My experience with Dr. B over the last 5 years has been extremely good. He has seen several of my dogs and my 3 cats- one of them passed away a year and a half ago. He genuinely cares about my dogs and cats and helped me tremendously through a 2 month painful time when my golden retriever was dying of nasal cancer. He is trustworthy and kind and obviously loves animals and cares about their owners.
