I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share the exceptional experience I’ve had with Garden State Veterinary Hospital in caring for my sweet dog, Oprah as she has battled a long term chronic illness. From day one, the entire team has been nothing short of extraordinary. The doctors are incredibly skilled and compassionate, and every member of the staff I've worked with consistently goes above and beyond, whether I’m calling with questions or visiting in person. I want to give special thanks to Dr. Amy and Rachel Sclarsky, as well as vet tech Alyssa Montanya. Their expertise, kindness, and unwavering dedication have made an enormous difference in Oprah's care and comfort. What truly sets this practice apart is the genuine love and attention they show to every animal. In fact, this is the only vet where my pup actually jumps out of the car, tail wagging, excited to see them—which speaks volumes about the trust and comfort they’ve created. If you’re looking for a veterinary team that treats your pet like their own, Garden State Veterinary Hospital is simply the best. 🐾❤️
I cannot begin to thank the veterinarians, vet techs, and the entire staff at VCA Garden State Animal Hospital for the love and care they have shown my Tank over the last few years. Sadly, they had to help Tanky cross the Rainbow Bridge this week, but they did it with so much love. Everyone there is so caring and concerned, not just about the pets, but the pet parents left behind. I cannot express how grateful I am for you all. Thank you. Kathleen Brust
Did not take care of my 9week old puppy correctly. Said what he was experiencing was normal and we shouldn’t worry. A week and a half later it’s gotten worse and I took him somewhere, and he has abnormal lung sounds. VCA was more focused on selling their services than actually looking after my puppy. Very disappointed in them. I wouldn’t go here if you actually care about your pet.
My experience at this vet hospital was horrible, and I left feeling unheard, disrespected, and completely unwelcome. I arrived about 10 minutes late due to being 8 months pregnant with swollen ankles, navigating traffic (25 min drive in holiday traffic), and carrying a 70-lb dog—yet before I even entered the building, I received a voicemail threatening to void my free visit because of the delay. When I walked in, things only got worse. The vet tech’s tone was nasty, offensive, and passive-aggressive. She insisted the visit wasn’t free unless I provided a coupon, even though the appointment was booked as a free visit through their own website. In the span of five minutes, they attempted twice to void the free visit coupon. That alone was a huge red flag. In the end, what should have been a free introductory visit turned into a $250 bill—and not even for quality care, but for an environment that felt transactional, cold, and aggressively unwelcoming. Honestly, Tractor Supply would have been more affordable and more compassionate. I have no idea why we were treated so poorly. Whether it was terrible customer service or something deeper, the experience was unacceptable. No one should feel judged, intimidated, or dismissed when trying to get care for their pet.
I've been a client of this office since the original owner, and when he retired and I saw who had bought his business, I was more than happy to stay as their client. The new group of vets and staff are all dedicated to our beloved animals wellbeing, and all my animals have been treated with nothing but love and tenderness. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an excellent vet service! UPDATE.. still love my drs here and they have added vet staff.i find though, since VCA aquired, they are extremely busy and getting an appointment can take a while if you are not open to seeing who ever is free. Still love these vets though!
I recently took my Shih Tzu, Pogo, to see Dr. Morgan, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care she provided. She was incredibly thorough, kind, and patient in explaining everything after doing X-rays of his chest and throat. It was such a relief to learn that his lungs and heart looked good, and Dr. Morgan made sure I understood every detail. It’s clear she truly cares about her patients and their owners. I left feeling reassured and confident that my dog was in excellent hands. Highly recommend Dr. Morgan and the entire team for anyone looking for compassionate, knowledgeable veterinary care! 🐾 ⸻
We have been going to Dr. Fisher since about 1990. She is the best vet ever. I ended up moving farther away and went to another vet and learned quickly I needed Dr. Fisher. Its a longer drive but worth it. Something about her touch that makes all my dogs relax and calm down. She took care of my Buddy and when he passed our Buster. When he passed she took care of my Sage and now Mitzi. Thank you for everything you have done for me and all my dogs Dr. Fisher! (pics go Mitzi my dog now) then my old boy Sage then Buster and Buddy.
