Recently I brought my 16 year old cat in to be seen. I can’t thank the overnight staff enough for their kindness and help with our situation. They explained all possible levels of treatment, and were understanding and compassionate with us as we chose the course of action best for our little guy. I definitely recommend this place. They are affordable as well. Thank you again to the midnight shift crew for everything! Our little guy is doing better today, and a tad sleepy ❤️
I took my cat Tigger there as he was very sick. They were very kind and helped any way they could with my budget constraints; although, they had told me he was good to wait until the appointment with our local vet which had been about 12 days away and if I had listened to them then Tigger would’ve starved to death or suffered immensely for days while hiding under my bed, thankfully, I did not listen. When I took him to med vet, he was chest breathing, his pupils were two different sizes, he couldn’t walk straight or hold up his head, he wasn’t eating or drinking or acting like usual and I was sent home with amoxicillin and told to monitor him and wait for our local vet. Again, I didn’t wait, I took him to VCA pet hospital two days after Med Vet and before even any testing they were the ones to tell me that Tiggers condition was very severe and it was likely cancer that he couldn’t come back from, so we had to put my baby down. I suppose I would’ve just appreciated more transparency about the urgency and severity of his condition at the time, which I feel I wasn’t given.
Very money focused. They already pre determined that our dog had to stay overnight for two days. After not even being there 24 hrs they said that there was no progress in his health. It was almost $4000.00 for less than 24 hrs.and they wanted him to stay another night (another $4000). We live an hour away and it was Memorial Day and are vet was closed. The next day we told them that we were taking him straight from Akron med vet to our vet. We called our vet and they knew we were coming and there vet team would be waiting for his arrival. Med vet Akron was trying to keep us there and actually called our vet to try to persuade us to keep him there. Once we got to our vet and he seen that our dog wasn’t in the distress that they were telling him. Our vet gave him an iv antibiotics and sent us home. 2 days later he was like his old self. Med vet treated us like like we were a piece of shit for going against there vet orders for him to stay another night. I could hear the staff talking shit saying there taking him out against dr orders. Funny how my vet sent us home later that day and didn’t charge us $4000.
Our little 9 month old English Bulldog GG had a complication from her spay from another facility a few days prior. All her sutures popped and well there was a mess. We bought her in and they moved very quickly. The Dr was extremely professional and caring as well as the techs. The most positive experience from the get go was the receptionists They were calm and concerned at the same time. Very friendly and supportive. When you can walk in and feel good about the frontline, you can feel good about the rest. We are grateful for everyone there. GG is on the mend, and that's the most important. Pic is without the cone of shame.
My son and I drove an hour to MedVet in Akron to help our very sick dog, Milo. I had called ahead to explain what was going on, and from the moment we arrived, the staff acted quickly and with such kindness. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Milo was taken back to triage immediately, and we were not left sitting in the waiting room for hours. He was evaluated promptly, and we were soon brought into a room to speak with the veterinarian. Unfortunately, given that Milo was 15 years old and had been diagnosed with diabetes over two years ago, we made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize him. We chose to be present with him during this difficult time. The veterinarian and staff were truly amazing—so compassionate, understanding, and respectful—and they made an incredibly painful situation as comfortable and peaceful as possible. We chose cremation, and they handled all of the arrangements, which lifted a huge burden during such an emotional moment. While this was not the outcome we hoped for, it was one we sadly expected. The hour drive was absolutely worth it for the level of care, professionalism, and compassion we received. Thank you for making one of the hardest moments of our lives a little easier
Dr. Callard and his team were amazing in treating my 5 year old yellow lab for an oral tumor. She ended up having a right maxillectomy with lymph node removal. From start to finish she was taken such great care of and I can’t say enough how cared for we both felt . Dr. Callard was the only doctor I could find who would do removal and he reassured me that dogs can recover and live normal lives after this with great quality. He explained everything in detail and showed he truly cared for my pet. That impression will last a lifetime. I cannot thank Dr. Callard & Med Vet enough for taking care of our sweet girl and giving her a chance and healing and many years ahead.
My cat Blu was having really bad emergency. The doctors and staff here were so kind and compassionate and helped my baby to the best of their abilities. If I ever have an emergency with my pets I will definitely be coming back. Thank you to the doctors and staff that helped my baby Blu get healthy again♥️
