Our lap cat is feeling much better! Went to Jefferson park vet after our baby Maverick was throwing up for days and not eating. They did follow up care after an ER visit that didn’t resolve things. They treated our cat-child with love and care and were diligent with communicating along the way our options, as well as follow up calls for updates on his improvements. The vet tech even made a little drawing on his medicine bag. Grateful for the care they provided. Be aware they are a drop off facility, which we weren’t excited about at first but I trusted that it would help them focus on the task at hand and that our sociable cat would be ok with it. Price was fair for all the items he received including imaging and multiple medications- definitely cheaper than an ER visit. Hopefully he will be off the meds shortly and back to 100%!

I love Dr. Mandell. She's been treating my pets (greyhound and greyhound mix) for ~1.5 years. I love the entire staff, they treat my dogs so well and are so sweet and caring. Working with Dr. Mandell feels like I have a true partner in my dogs' care. She's so thorough, so thoughtful, and always patient with any questions that I have. She's clearly very knowledgeable but also willing to reach out to her network for a second opinion when she needs one. About a year ago, my dog had a stroke. Though treated at the UC Davis Emergency Department, Dr. Mandell called me that evening to check on us and requested his records from UC Davis so that she could keep apprised of his status. She was so kind and so empathetic. I was touched by how she followed up. I will be a loyal client of Dr. M's for many years to come!

We started seeing Dr. Mendell and her staff after adopting a kitten recently. Unfortunately our little kitten was suffering from health complications from a spaying procedure. Every step along way Dr Mendell and the team went above and beyond to treat and save our kittens life and did everything they could to make our lives easier in the process. The best veterinarian i have ever encountered by a mile. I cannot recommend this clinic enough!

My cat Ocean had a serious injury on her leg. I started contacting vets and everybody was a week and a half or more out. I could tell it was getting abscessed, and she could hardly walk or eat. Anyway, I called this vet which was really close to me, and they got me in 3 days later. Dr Mandel personally met me, and her and her team took care of business. Granted ayhr cost quite a bit, but compared to other vets that I've talked to with a number of people, this vet was very reasonable. I was very grateful. Thanks guys.

Disclaimer : 4.5 because it is very pricey. Dr Mendell basically brought my cat back to life! My Maggie had a severe vitamin deficiency that had caused her brain lesions. Dr. Mendel listened to what I had to say and didn't disregard me. She was able to turn around pretty quickly and now Maggs is more lively than she has ever been! I would recommend Dr Mendel and Jefferson Park Veterinary to anybody!!

Dr Mandell and her staff are an excellent team that give special care and excellent diagnostics. They always give special treatment and handling to patients while they are in the clinic and follow up when the animals return home.

Worst experience we have ever had with a Vet. Our dog got a cut in his ear wrestling with his sibling and became infected. Took him here because our normal Vet was booked. The cost to fix his ear with over $3,800, which we could not afford. Turns out a lot of the bill was unnecessary tests she wanted to perform, one being for an eye with cataracts that we had already diagnosed by our normal vet. They also wanted to perform several other tests not realted to his ear or surgery. Even with negotiating the bill down without the unneeded tests, it was just still too much for our family. Given that he was very old for his breed, had kidney and breathing issues already, we made the difficult decision to put him to sleep. This Vet wanted $600 to perform the service, so we informed them that we would take him to Bradshaw Shelter where they only charge $60. We took our boy straight there and did one of the most difficult things for a pet owner. Not even an hour after returning home and dealing with our young children crying from the news, an Animal control office came to our door informing us that the Vet complained that we are abusing our dog and have over 6 others at home, all of which is untrue. They complained that we took him home to suffer, even though we made it clear we were taking him straight to the shelter. We explained and showed paperwork to the officer, who apologized and stated she was not surprised because she has dealt with this Vet many times making bogus calls on clients who chose to take there dog to a more affordable Vet. The officer suggested to stay away from this clinic given the issues she has personally dealth with. Never in my life has an Vet been so insensitive and cruel when having to make the hard decision of ending our pets suffering.
