I would like to take a moment to recognize the excellent work of El CID Animal Clinic and its entire team. From the very beginning, you can clearly see their professionalism, dedication, and, most importantly, their genuine love for animals. Every member of the team shows a strong commitment to the well-being of pets. They are always kind, attentive, and take the time to explain everything clearly, which gives pet owners great confidence and peace of mind. In addition, the clinic stands out for being well organized, clean, and for the compassionate way they treat both pets and their owners. Congratulations to the entire team at El CID Animal Clinic for the wonderful work you do every day. Without a doubt, a highly recommended place for the care and health of our pets.
I've had so many great experiences here! Our puppy is our first child. She has always been in wonderful hands with Dr. Garcia and the staff at El Cid. I know it can be hard to find a vet you truly trust, but I knew after the first appointment with Dr. Garcia we were in good hands. On one occasion when our pup tore a ligament in her knee, Dr. Garcia was able to help get her in to see a specialist immediately and even helped push her up on the surgery schedule. We are forever grateful for El Cid and Dr. Garcia!
This clinic used to be great until they sold the practice. Now the prices have increased and they like to tug on heart stings by telling you your pet may have something wrong. Thousands of dollars worth of tests later, Surprise nothing was wrong. It’s a money grab Avoid doing business here
Generously helped coach me through finding a solution for a sweet dog I found roaming the street on a 100+ degree day. They came right out to my car to try to chip read him and gave him a once over, gave me an approximate age, general health approval. The vet couldn’t have been nicer. They made recommendations in terms of what options I had for trying to find him a loving home. Which I greatly appreciated. Unfortunately no chip was found. He’s currently at Peggy Adams up for adoption- I couldn’t keep him but he was the sweetest dog, knew all his commands. I hope someone gives him a forever home soon.
We brought our kitten here after adopting it and went back several times over a 3 month period. The prices were high (hundreds of dollars) for diagnostics like stool sampling and standard medications like anti inflammatories and antibiotics; the clinic offered no flexibility on prices. The clinic operated on the cat and had to make an extra incision during surgery, which then had post surgical complications related to infection or reaction to internal sutures. The providers did not communicate well after the surgery with each other, we received mixed answers as to whether our cat was given antibiotics during surgery. The clinic suggested treatments like laser therapy to help accelerate the recovery of these complications, but did not offer to cover the cost even though the operation caused the issue. This clinic is owned by a private equity firm and it is disappointing to see it operated so poorly with high prices. We switched to another vet clinic and immediately noticed positive differences in provider experience and cost.
We were under a great deal of stress trying to move to Colombia with our Basenji girl. She is very high strung and has deep separation anxiety. To complicate matters, a rescue dog we were trying to match her with caused her serious injury a week before we were leaving. Dr. Moreno and her staff saved the day. Our regular vet had not even stapled the wounds our dog received. Once the team at El Cid took over everything went like clock work. We talked to several dog transport groups before and only came a way feeling confused and victimized. I have had Basenjis for 20 years. Dr. Moreno is the best veterinarian I have ever encountered.
EDIT: This place has unfortunately gone way down hill. Maybe three visits in a row, Garcia was out of office. Random vet saw my pets. My last visit, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT for 12, arrived at 11:45am. When I arrived, I noticed immediately that they were slammed. I asked "should I go someplace else?" (I have a backup vet) the receptionist told me, it was fine I'd be seen the same day. So I waited. 12:30 rolls around. "Are you sure I should wait?" "Yes" So I waited. At 12:50, she tells me I should go somewhere else. Justly, I demanded my dog be seen, she's 15, has never had major issues, seeing her suffer with a sinus infection was difficult and the prospect of having her uncomfortable for another week was out of the question. Garcia gave me 6 minutes max of "this is what's wrong with her" without tests or cultures. The "I AM GOD" mentality he showed was disturbing. A month later I get a letter from them saying they don't want me to come back. Like I even planned to. To add insult to injury, the quote they gave me? $1300 for one tooth, that could POSSIBLY, Be causing the issue, as again, he is GOD and doesn't need to run tests to determine the issue. Save your money and your patience. Go someplace else.
