I brought my puppy in twice the staff didn't know what they were doing the receptionist has extremely poor communication skills. Their computers crash constantly. They tried to change me when I had full coverage insurance with them

I took my cat here for several years. The communication was always very unclear and they didn’t seem very equipped to treat cats. For example, a tech told me that my cat was difficult and she might need anesthesia for expressing anal glands in the future. When my cat was sick, a vet made vaguely threatening comments about her wellbeing if we didn’t get further treatment while also telling us that it was impossible to know what was wrong or if the treatment would work. We recently switched to a new vet and the difference is jarring. The techs have said every time we’ve come in that my cat (the same one) handles procedures like anal glad expression very well (while fully awake). Our new vet also told me that my cat had a very serious result from bloodwork taken at Banfield, but our vet at Banfield never even mentioned it to us. Because we were not made aware, we are having to deal with the fallout from this result a year later.

Dr. Seawright and the team at Banfield are truly amazing! I had been stressing about trying to find a vet in Waco that had time to get us in last minute so we could get health certificates done for an international move, and everyone here was so helpful with answering questions and making sure things were done in time. Honestly, absolute life savers❤️. We made the trip safely, and couldn’t have done it without your help so thank you all for everything!😊

I love these guys! My cat? Maybe slightly less so, but that’s because he has to grudgingly admit that going to the vet does actually make him feel better. The doctors are personable, knowledgeable and friendly, the vet techs are great and patient, and really work to make sure both humans and pets are comfortable. We’ve been able to get appointments quickly as needed. They also are very transparent with pricing and working with you to make sure you get exactly what your pet needs but not more.

I had originally been with Banfield since I found my calico cat as a kitten. My family used them for my family dog when I was growing up. However, due to some recent level of care, I feel that Banfield is not appropriately equipped to handle what needed/needs to be done. 1. I had to take my cat to an emergency vet who diagnosed her with FIC and an inflamed bladder. They instructed me to follow up with my vet to confirm after treatment that the bladder is no longer inflamed. In doing so the technician said that they wouldn't be able to see the bladder with ultrasound as the machine couldn't do that, and that the only other way was pulling a sample for a UTI test. A sample was pulled and they said "Yes she has a UTI, we need to now do a culture test to determine which bacteria before giving her antibiotics". I paid the $300. They called and said "Oh actually the culture test came back negative, so it must have been a contaminated sample". Its concerning that this happened and makes me question the level of cross contamination that is happening. 2. I don't believe that I have ever actually met the vet in person. Every time that I brought her in for an appointment, I did the intake with the technician and they took her back and it was always a phone call. The phone calls never felt connected, it felt rushed and as a first time pet owner I am still always learning and look to the experts for clarification and help. 3. In PetSmart, they sell prescription food. Banfield just gave me the card and said "You'll have to go to check out in order to get the food". Little did I know (or see) the prescription food was out in the open on the opposite wall. I think a level of care the technicians should do is walk the owner over and show them "This is the food you'll need to purchase, show the cashier the prescription card, and you can purchase it". Because in short I didn't buy the one that was also urine and stress, just urine. Sure that's partially on me, but as an owner who needs answers and is confused with the events happening, a little bit can still go a long way. All in all, I no longer recommend Banfield. Especially DO NOT DO the care plans. All it does is say "Hey owner don't pay the services now, one monthly payment over time will pay it all back". As the agent I spoke with over the phone said "You're basically taking out a Line of Credit with this". Again sure that can be on me but it was sold more so that it's discounted services because you have the plan.

First time appointment after booking online 3 weeks in advance for the puppy package offered. Arrived early for our scheduled in room visit for our 9 week old miniature yorkie. Noone was at front counter waited 10 mins for assistance. Was taken in room and left sitting 15 mins for front counter assistant to come in and tell me I need to fill out paperwork for a DROP OFF appt. No ma'am thats not what we scheduled for. She stated that the doctor left for lunch. I asked why would the doctor leave knowing there was scheduled appointments? She said she didnt know she would get technician. Who comes in 10 mins later to say they had emergencies and they were running behind. I said it isnt my fault and they could have called and asked me to come later vs trying to have me drop off my dog or wait a hour for the doctor's lunch. She rolled her eyes and said well we are short staff too. Again not my problem and we never leave our dogs unattended and she said they dont do in room exams, well why is that an option listed when making appointment? No response just got quiet and we had a starring match for a good 3 mins until I asked if this is how they always do business and handle their customers and she said well no and I asked why was this my treatment on my first time here and how could they be ok with providing such horrible service? I stated this place would not be for us and me, my children, and our puppy walked out. She sarcastically said have a nice day and my response was have the day you deserve and I'll be leaving a review and then the technician said that's good for you! TEN OUT OF TEN DO NOT RECOMMEND! Went right outside and called our veterinary clinic and scheduled his appointment with them!
