we were on a camping trip and noticed that our beloved dog wasn’t urinating. we called SW and they saw us as soon as we could get there. Sadly our baby was absolutely riddled with cancer and he had tumors pressing on his urethra so he couldn’t go. We were completely devastated and surprised as we had seen no other symptoms aside from finding some lumps in his neck earlier that morning, and he was only 5 years old. They gave us plenty of time to say good bye and included thoughtful touches such as a treat cart and a stamp pad for paw and nose prints. I know they were incredibly busy as the lobby was full and it was a holiday weekend but their kindness, gentleness and patience we will forever be grateful for. The doctor stayed with me the whole time and was so gentle and patient as we said our goodbyes.
I’m honestly really disappointed with my experience at this emergency vet hospital in St. George. I brought my puppy in worried about his eye, and after arriving 30 minutes before other people they were seen before us , we still waited over 2 hours just to be called back. To make it worse, when a room finally opened, staff stood right in front of us having a casual conversation instead of taking us back. It felt really unprofessional and dismissive. The attitude from the staff was rude the entire time, which is the last thing you want when you’re already stressed about your pet. But the most concerning part is that they completely missed a thorn that was stuck in my puppy’s eye. It stayed there for THREE days because they didn’t properly check. I had to take him somewhere else to get re-checked, and that’s when it was finally found. They also gave him the wrong cone, so he kept scratching at his eye and making things worse. Overall, I feel like they were careless and didn’t do a thorough job at all. I understand everyone makes mistakes but instead of taking the time to look at him they thought gossiping and talking was more important than taking a better look at him. I would not trust this place in an emergency situation. I cant explain how upset I am. Please be cautious bringing your pets here. For it being a emergency vet they weren’t treating anything like an emergency.
First visit here was one of the hardest moments in my life, but the staff helped us out a lot. We called on the way over and Josh was very understanding on the phone and helped get a room ready for us. When we arrived, they knew who we were as soon as we walked in. We were able to get a room right away. They gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes and the doctor administering the medicine was so kind when explaining the procedure. Josh explained the process that happens afterwards so great, we are very grateful. It was as good of an experience as could be expected considering the situation. Thank you to the whole team.
Dr. Shepherd charted wrong information on my dog's chart, did not provide meds that she wanted my dog to take so now I have to pay for another visit at our regular vet to get the meds. She acted like examining my dog was a huge inconvenience. If you have an emergency go elsewhere, or hope that Dr. Vincent is on staff here.
Our little Dachshund had diarrhea and vomitting on a Saturday. We took him to Southwest Emergency Clinic that evening. We were impressed by the friendliness of all staff. Our concerns were addressed, fluids given, medication dispensed. The cost of all this was very reasonable and the records were even faxed to our regular clinic. I highly recommend them.
Dr. Vincent was one of the most caring and compassionate vets I’ve ever met in our area. I work with a rescue, so we see lots of different vets in the St. George area. Dr. Vincent went above and beyond for a dog named Katie who would have died that night without emergency care. He waved his office visit exam fee because he believes in and supports the work that rescues do and he wanted to help. That meant a lot to us and we are beyond grateful to him for doing that. Sherrie and Rebecca took great care of Katie as well while she was hospitalized. They were so kind and loving to her. We had not been to the ER for quite some time before this visit, and I feel lucky that we got to work with this particular vet and staff to help Katie through this medical emergency.
Just tell us you can’t see our pet. So we can have an alternative. Instead we were waiting 12 hours for a call back. Told to come in and when we arrived told apology it will be a 2 hour wait because the wrong person and Dr told you to come in and they don’t know the wait schedule. Front desk is in charge. Told us to go to Vegas. Well Vegas is 2 hours away why would we do that? So going home our pet is in distress and sick. Some ER for animals. Will tell our vet our experience as this clinic was recommended.
