VCA Baring Boulevard Animal Hospital

VCA Baring Vet did not care about my little Aki. After expensive urgent care spot and 10 day medication, no calls from the urgent care t car doctor, Dr. polar or anyone. A recheck would cost 50 to 80 dollars more and no one reached out to see if he was ok. He is not! I have been a faithful customer for over 5 years with 4 pets that are patients. This vet only cares about money and has list its empathy for their customers. My little 11 year old doggie Aki is their customer. I feel if you are looking for a vet hospital that really cares about your beloved pets, don’t choose this vet hospital. They have forgotten how to reach out and see if their patients are ok after they have taken your money and given You medicine. With so much sadness, this is now in my humble opinion, a 1 star vet. Dr. Park, Lisa, and the entire "Oncology" team have been so wonderful to our Golden Retriever, Bodie, and to us while we navigate his new cancer diagnosis. The communication and clear explanations, along with some TLC, have made this process easier to deal with! Thank you to all!

Dr. Baker and his staff (especially Shannon!) have given our corgi so much more time after his Stage IV lymphoma diagnosis. Another clinic in town refused to see him due to his vet aggression. Dr. Baker, Shannon, and the rest of the staff gave him a chance. Not only did they get him through 1 round of chemo (now on round 2), his aggression at the vet is so much better. He needs much less sedative and anti-anxiety meds to have his infusions. He will run to the door of the vet when he gets out of the car. We cannot thank VCA baring enough for giving us more time with our firstborn fur baby.

Dr. Tampira and VCA Baring Hospital are incredible. Front office staff were both professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Tampira recently performed surgery on our 12-year-old American Staffordshire terrier and did a fantastic job. When we had questions both pre- and post-surgery, she promptly called us back and provided valuable needed advice. I can't say enough on how good Dr. Tampira is and how pleased we were with VCA Baring Animal Hospital as a whole. Our sincere Thank you.

We had to put our 18 year old kali pup. She was very sick and had to cross the rainbow bridge. We were a walk-in appointment in the AM they got us in the same day within an appointment 2 hrs later. They took excellent care of her, got back quickly, and the exams were quick. The price was reasonable for the services. The staff are amazing they were so supportive in a very sad time and helped me feel better before I left. I greatly recommend this emergency veteran.

I had brought my cat in for a urinary blockage (he had one before so I already knew he had it before coming in) they took him back then called me to come into a room where they told me he did in fact have a blockage. They brought me back an estimate which was for 3 days. When he previously had the blockage he was only hospitalized for 1 day and I brought him home after from the emergency vet. They never told me why exactly he needed 3 days or how severe he was. The doctor came in and spoke to me and told me they were giving him meds so he’s comfortable and took some labs. They estimated it to be at most 3500. Of course we didn’t have that much money. So we applied for some resources that would help us pay but did not get approved. So I asked if we could pay the deposit and make payments for the remainder and they told me they don’t do payment plans there. Which I know is a lie because my mom just had her dog there for 2 days and they let her pay a deposit and make payments on the rest. As well as previous dogs we took there before. Because we were unable to pay the full 3500 they suggested we euthanize him or surrender him. So we signed him out ama. We still ended having to pay $400 for just labs and pain meds and him sitting back there with no help. The manager heather let us know the doctor was going to drain some urine from his bladder with a needle to make him a little more comfortable as well. We ended up taking him home so we can take him to a different vet the next morning that would help us better. The next day the spca called me to let me know we were approved for the Todd’s fund but for vca so we took him back. When we took him back we were showed a syringe of bloody urine that was taken the day before which no one told us about and still no one told us how severe his case was and they let us check him out with bloody urine and no knowledge of it. We were also told based on labs his kidney function was not doing good at all. The manager heather was not very nice either and was trying to tell us that wasn’t from the day before, we all work in the medical field and know what fresh bloody urine looks like and that urine was definitely not fresh. She also kept offering euthanasia and for a place that’s supposed to care for animals that being the first option is absolutely crazy. They let us know that he’ll need more than just the 24 hours but we were paying with the Todd’s fund and only we approved for the 24 hours (which was the new estimate after bringing him back) so yet again the gave us the euthanasia option. We ended up calling and going to the spca and because we adopted him there the told us they can pay up to 6k in care so we transferred him to a different vet after his 24hours with vca. At the new vet the discovered he also had a heart murmur which we also weren’t told at vca. Heather also told us (when we were asking questions) that she doesn’t know she’s not a doctor, she has a business degree and doesn’t know anything about medicine). They have lack of communication and rude staff working there and only care about money. They do not care about your pet. If you’re having trouble paying for you pets vet bills there are options out there! Don’t give up and euthanize just because that’s their first suggestion! You just have to look for the resources. Our cat is now doing great at the new vet and will come soon.

The VCA Baring Boulevard Corporate Animal Hospital has changed. It is now, in my humble opinion, a place that has forgotten how to care about your pet. I just spent over 300.00 for an urgent care visit for my little 11 year old chihuahua Aki His skin is very bad and I didn’t know how to help him. I was given a 10 day supply of amoxicillin and I gave this to him as directed. I also have him baths in the medicated shampoo. No one from my vet had called to see how he was doing. Around day 5, I called and asked the urgent care doctor to call me back because I felt the medicine was not doing anything. I was told by a very robotic asst manager that Dr. Polvar was too busy and she did ask her asst reach out to me, but the asst was a student and forgot to call me. I again asked for Dr. Polvar to call me back. The answer was no. I doctor follow up or any follow up. I asked if my doctor, who was on maternity leave and was just returning , could call me back. The asst mgr said she would leave a message. I received No calls from Dr. Clark as of now. The10 days of medication are completed and my little doggies skin is still really bad and his ear is worse. So told this to the asst mgr with no empty from her at all. I actually asked her if she was a robot! I had also asked this asst manager if I could have a free recheck around day 5. She said no. It would cost me another 50 to 80 dollars to be seen for a recheck. I told her I didn’t have anymore money, I already gave the baring vet 300.00. That was all I had. She was like a robot and just said she would leave a message for Dr. Clark. No doctor ever called me back! Ever!!! It is now day 15. I am telling you all this story because I know you have beloved pets and I know you all have vets to take them too. I also know you love your animals! I have been devastated and my poor little doggie looks so bad and his ear is not looking good, with no help from my veterinary hospital of over five years. If you are looking for a vet that has not forgotten empathy and care, and requests more money to recheck your pet after you gave them 300.00 for the urgent care visit, please consider another vet. The VCA baring vet seems to be a money making machine and has lost its ability to reach out to their own patients to see how they are doing after you paid a large amount of money for your urgent care visit. When you choose urgent care, there is obviously, a problem, your pet is having. That’s why you choose urgent care! The urgent care doctor, Dr. Polvar had no urgency to call to see if her patient was ok. Little Aki is not ok. Under her care, she did not care about him or follow up. I am saddened as a pet mom and I still don’t know how to help him. This is a 1 star Vet Hospital and I say this with empathy and sadness. I have been a Yelp Elite All Star and a Google reviewer for over 5 years and it is rare that I ever give 1 star reviews. This is a 1 star Vet hospital. Look elsewhere if you love your pet.
