Great staff, very friendly. I brought my Russian tortoise in and he's getting better! 🐢 I would have given 5 stars had it not been so expensive, but very well worth it 🫶

I’m a pet parent of an adorable bunny. I was going to a veterinarian clinic 10 minutes from my house, but they were terrible. Since I’ve been going to Chicago Exotic Animal Hospital for 2 plus years my bunny is always happy and healthy. In addition to their outstanding care, the office manager and front desk staff are polite, professional and friendly. Their kindness is greatly appreciated. Kudos. To a great team!

Dr Alia is fantastic. The whole staff here is. The wait isn’t terrible. Love their online options and the drop off options. My little guy (bunny) is in great hands with these folks and i am willing to sit in an uber an extra 20 min than for the closer bunny-savvy vet because of the care, encouragement, and info I get from this place. Also, love that there’s more than one rabbit savvy doc here and the emergency hours in the event we need it.

I had a severe emergency with my ferret, so upon arrival, the team took her to the back immediately. They quickly & efficiently took blood and X-rays. It was clear that she would need exploratory surgery to find just what was going on in her GI tract. They kept her for 2 days and monitored her with love & care, sending me updates and photos to help put me at ease. Dr. Byerly & the team were stellar and aftercare (meds, etc,) and questions were both explained & answered with confidence. She is now safe and comfy, at home with me, and we are on our 6th day of recovery. The progress has been exponential. The price was a bit hefty, but worth every penny, knowing she's ok. I highly recommend this exotic animal hospital to anyone with exotic pets.

First time coming here & will definitely be coming here for all my reptile & bird needs! Unfortunately, I had to put down one of my leopard geckos due to an illness, the staff & vet here were nothing be patient & did an amazing job explaining to me what was going on. In my case, the vet was reassuring me that sometimes things happen that we can't control. From start to finish, it was a peaceful experience & though I walked in with my pet & left without her, I know she was in good hands til her last moments. Thank you so much to everyone here! You guys are heroes! 🦸

My rabbit Siro was cared for by the vets and techs here for three years. He just passed away after a brief but vicious battle with lymphoma. Dr. Moy did everything that she could for him and explained clearly to me what was going on. She didn’t sugar coat it, but also let me make decisions for him as his mom. I highly recommend this animal clinic, and I will miss them.

I’m giving 5 stars because we were one of those families that had to make a very difficult choice for our lil green tree frog named Albert just yesterday. AT NO POINT did I feel like anyone there handled us with anything other than empathy and straight forward answers/pathways to move forward and what that would look like for our frog and us. Each person I spoke with (in person at drop off and on the phone) lead with compassion. I’m sorry to those who’ve had "bad" experiences here. I would hope that anyone coming into this seemingly great resource in our situation would be met with the same kind of care and compassion. Especially since for us being in the city- it’s not as far as going to Madison, Champaign, or Indianapolis - which is where I was originally told I had to go by a different exotic pet ER doctor and visit. Yes we take on a great responsibility when we decide to open our homes and hearts to creatures big and small that usually wouldn’t be in our homes. Some of us do our thorough research and do our best to care for these special buddies and sometimes "things happen." That’s when we turn to the professionals for help and guidance and honesty and yes this costs money. Like every piece of healthcare in america it’s all expensive. Which is why our family made very specific choices to not have cats or dogs and only get these frogs after thorough research and once I knew we would do well by these froggos. And then a freak accident happened and I turned to the experts who do this work. I trusted them and they are continuing to do right by this lil Albert while also handling us humans in good care. So for whatever my words and recent experience is worth- take it for what it is. I will definitely be returning here as we continue onward with now our one green tree frog named Fred. Thank you everyone at Chicago Exotics for your care and compassion.
