I have been taking my pets to Dr. Mortimer for over 30 years. I started at the Green Lake location, and now go to the Ravenna location, since Dr. Mortimer no longer goes to Green Lake. Dr. Mortimer is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and professional. He communicates well, and listens well. Although we have not always agreed on a particular treatment plan, as I lean more toward herbal medicine, he always listens to me & takes me seriously, and we have an exchange of knowledge and ideas that is always respectful. I also really like the staff at Ravenna. They reflect Dr. Mortimer's values, and are warm, kind, helpful, respectful & thoughtful. The office is also very LGBTQAI+ friendly, which I very much appreciate.
We have been thrilled with our experience with this clinic. We’ve seen both Dr Khela and Dr De and they both have been thorough with examinations and in educating us about how to care for our large breed puppy and eye care referrals. The support staff are also wonderful - asking for preferences, transparent in costs, and everyone seems to deeply loves animals. Samples/labs have been done quickly and they seem to have more appointments available than other clinics. Our family looks forward to calling Ravenna Animal Hospital our home base for animal care for many years to come!
We had our first puppy appointment yesterday and LOVED our experience. Dr. Khela spent significant time educating us and examining our little girl. We walked out much more confident to care for our pup! Additionally, the Vet Techs and support staff were all so kind and thorough. Highly recommend this place!
Great group of people taking care of our best furry friends. They were kind and understanding and Dr. Mortimer really has a gift for handling nervous kitties. She had sat beside me on the chair and rather than bring her to the exam table, he did everything right there where she felt comfortable at. Empathy bonus roll +20. Mausure says thank you and she feels much better today! Highly recommend them!
Ravenna Animal Hospital always takes good care of our cats and dog -- they examine the animals thoroughly and communicate clearly with us. The clinic has a very friendly, relaxing atmosphere.
Big dog, little dog, old dog, young dog, always thoughtful competent care. Great location easy to park. Front desk staff super helpful and info timely. Impressive educational experience from the Veterinarians!
I came in only to get a prescription for routine flea and worm prevention for my dog, Ewok, who has no health issues. Instead, I was told the vet would not prescribe it unless I paid for a heartworm test related to a trip to Florida TWO YEARS AGO (Feb 2024) — completely irrelevant to my visit. As a result, I was forced to pay $105 for a consultation plus $65 for testing just to obtain a basic prescription that Ewok has been on before. The actual "exam" lasted maybe two minutes. The vet walked away without saying anything while I was setting up autoship on Chewy, and I had to call her back just to ask whether my dog was even okay. There was no explanation, no communication, and no follow-up. On top of that, their in-house medications are marked up by around 60% compared to online pharmacies. Between the unnecessary testing and the inflated medication prices, this felt far more like a revenue-driven practice than patient-centered care. If you value transparency, reasonable pricing, and basic communication, I’d strongly recommend not purchasing medications here and looking for another vet altogether.
