This was my first time taking my rescue dog to the vet, she is a dog with high anxiety and I wanted to get professional help. As soon as I walked into the back office the dr. Or whoever she was didn’t introduce herself and did not even greet me or my pet. Out of kindness I said hello first and she waited 5 minutes to respond "hello" back in a low uninterested tone. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE. If you want your dog to feel comfortable, welcomed and safe. I immediately suggested that I leave and reschedule to come back… knowing damn well I’m not because this was not a safe space.

I'm giving one star because I'm required to give a rating; my wish is to give none because the service is so TERRIBLE that they deserve zero stars. My dog was there for 5 hours, from 8:15 AM to 12:30 PM, locked in a cage without water and unable to relieve himself, waiting only for some vaccinations. I consider this a disregard for both the animal and the clients. I had to take him out without the vaccinations. When I got outside the clinic, he urinated a lot... and then drank almost a liter of water, which makes me believe that they don't care about the animals they should be treating well, because it's not a favor, since they charge very well for it!

They really take time with your pet. They explain everything and don’t charge astronomical prices. The staff are all friendly and efficient.

I don’t really write any reviews to businesses out there, because I rather keep things to my self, good or bad, however, I’d be doing a disservice to my community if I didn’t share my experience with Banfield over the years. I’ve been bringing my pets to Banfield for 10+ years, and I couldn’t be happier with the way they treated my dog Spike, that unfortunately passed last week, every person from the staff were super helpful since day 1 that Spike got sick, and it has been 5+ years. They all cared about his well-being and mine as well, because it was really tough to make a decision to say goodbye to my best friend last week. They were all understanding and supported me throughout the entire process. If anyone in my neighborhood is looking for a great Pet Hospital to take care of your family, Banfield in Salem MA is the place to bring them. Banfield staff, keep up the great work and thank you so much for everything you guys have done for my family! Raph

So we have been with Banfield for several years, they’re definitely the "cheapest" on paper. The charges though come during your visits, they add things they "deem necessary" and will not tell you about it. Which can seem normal but for example they gave our dog electrolytes that costed almost $100 to "energize" her and when we got home she was dying of thirst. They have also charged us for an exam $150 which was supposed to be done with our dog fasted, but did not inform us so they had us rerun the test and charged us even after saying they forgot to tell us about the fasting. I’ll even add another example out of the many, they ran a promotion that waived the onboarding fee of new pets added to the plans, we booked an appointment with their register and confirmed that the fees would be waived and when the appointment time came guess what…. The fees weren’t waived! So it went from a $240 visit to $700 haha yea im out of there just be wary before they do things to your pets as it will cost you
