Our pups have been going to River's Edge Animal Hospital for several years now, and I truly cannot recommend them enough. From routine visits to more difficult moments, their team has consistently treated our boys with so much love and care, as if they were their own. When we went through the unimaginable loss of our 13-year-old lab, their compassion and support meant everything to us. They were patient, kind, and genuinely present during such a hard time, and that level of care is something we will never forget. It’s rare to find a veterinary team that not only provides excellent medical care but also supports you as a pet parent. We trust them wholeheartedly and are incredibly grateful for them. My 10 year old mastiff started to have issues getting in and out of the car for vet visits and his 12 year old English bulldog sister while easy to transport was prone to anxiety and overheating in the office. I would never want to do without preventative care so knew I had to find a doctor that could come to us. I’m so grateful River’s Edge, Dr Tanis, and Liz offer this service. Liz took the time to gather a complete history prior to our appointment. Dr Tanis did a thorough physical and took time to answer questions and go over all of their test results and care plan. I was impressed with their knowledge and skills but more importantly they treated my dogs with great care and compassion. Highly recommended!

WE LOVE DOCTOR TANIS!! Dr. TANIS is amazing and we are so thankful we found her!! We have 3 doodles and our eldest has always had issues with his health in terms of stomach and allergies. We had never fully found him relief or the right help until we found Dr. Tanis! All our pups LOVE her and what’s even better is she LOVES them right back! She cares for pets with a huge heart and has the knowledge to back it up too! We love her and are so grateful! There is no bad vet visit when we go see her! Dr. Tanis is fantastic! My 18-year-old cat, Sally, loves her. And Dr. Tanis really cares about her patients. I recently moved and tried another vet, but I had to come back to Rivers Edge. Dr. Tanis provides me with good treatment options that will help make Sally comfortable in the season of her life.

Never have I ever met a more compassionate and empathetic team as I have here! From the first phone call I made, to bringing my boy in to be assessed, to the final act of love, letting him go, Dr. Smith and her team made it as easy and peaceful as possible. The vet techs that helped us were so considerate and understanding and explained everything they were doing. Dr. Smith herself took time to answer our questions and gave us time to make our decision. I will recommend this vet to everyone and I am so thankful for their kindness during this difficult time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been to three different vets in York County regarding health concerns with my senior dog, and River’s Edge Animal Hospital has been the most thorough and compassionate by far. I’ve been so impressed with their level of care. My family vet referred us to an animal hospital in Charlotte for an endoscopy, but since we don’t live nearby, I started exploring options in York County. After seeing River’s Edge’s great reviews, I decided to give them a try and I’m so glad I did. They took us in the same day for an emergency appointment. Dr. Blackburn spent a lot of time with us, carefully explaining every detail and option. I really appreciated that she didn’t immediately push for an endoscopy just to make a sale, she wanted to explore all other possibilities first, considering the severity of my dog’s condition. After our first visit, Dr. Blackburn emailed me a detailed recap of everything we discussed and our plan moving forward. I was so happy to see this as we had multiple topics being discussed, and I’ve never had a vet do this for me. It’s acts like this that provide wonderful customer service. When I had to bring my dog back the very next day for another emergency visit, they fit us in right away again. Dr. Blackburn also took the time to call and go over everything with me thoroughly, making sure all my questions were answered. She never rushed me and made me feel like a bother. I truly feel that Dr. Blackburn cares about my dog’s health and well-being. I finally feel confident that no steps are being missed and that we’re in the best possible hands.
