Thank you so much for the exceptional care you have given to Rico! Dr Raphael and his tech were both so kind and understanding! They took care in checking him over really good and giving him the right care to save his life! We can not thank you guys enough! This is the best veterinarian I've ever been to. I will be sure to spread the word about the excellent care Dr Raphael and his staff gave to my sweet Lil green chicken! Thank you guys so much!!

I have a 2 year old female bearded dragon who suddenly started laying eggs. I am not a breeder. This went on off and on for a month. Towards the end, she seemed off, so I contacted one local exotic vet and he wouldn’t have any openings for about 5 days, so I contacted Portland Veterinary Hospital, and they could see her the next day. When they asked why she needed to be seen and I told them I thought she was egg bound. The lady put me on a brief hold, came back on and said to drop her off and Dr. Rafael would work her in. What an absolute blessing that he offered to work her in. She was egg bound, dehydrated, despite me soaking her, and had an infection. He and his staff were very thorough in her diagnosis, her care, and explaining how to give the shots she needed at home. I cannot begin to thank Dr. Rafael enough for taking her in on a busy, calendar filled day. Pearl is back strong as ever, although much, much more spoiled than the others. Exotic veterinarians are very hard to come by, and I am forever grateful to Dr. Rafael for being so willing to help us out. I also want to say that the bill was extremely reasonable. When they called to give me a breakdown of services for her care, they asked if I wanted a quote. I didn’t because I was going to spend what was needed if she could continue to have a good quality of life 5 stars isn’t near enough stars for Dr. Rafael.

The staff and veterinarian were friendly, helpful and wonderful. They show that they really care about your pet, and take time to explain how to better care for them. The environment is quaint and welcoming. This was our first visit and I will be bringing my pets here for anything they need.

I thought this was a good vet. I took my cats there. Even after I saw them mess up putting my cat down. Does still hurts me today, what I saw. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. My other cat got older became very skinny. I paid over $600 for tests to find out what was wrong with her. A vet tech called me not the veterinarian and told me they couldn't diagnose her if they didn't do 200 more dollars worth a test. She did not give me any results of the tests any possible reasons why the cat so skinny. I didn't get to speak to the veterinarian. She just told me if I didn't pay for another test and they couldn't diagnose her. Later I went to a different veterinarian. I requested the records from this veterinarian and it turns out they did have results from those tests that they didn't tell me about. I stopped going here after that. I just wanted to share this to save anyone that has doubt about going here the pain that I've experienced, emotional and financial.

I brought in my beloved chicken who was too ill to save. They were so kind and caring in a very difficult time for me loosing my sweet Big Mama Red. They are one of the best vets I have ever been to. I highly recommend.

I have a lot of cat friends and always recommend this place. These guys have always been extremely accommodating to any emergencies we have had, the prices have never left me upset as I feel they’re reasonable, and the biggest thing aside from the amazing care is their bedside manner. They remember me and my cats personally. That’s big and means a lot. We recently had to put one of our girls down suddenly due to a diagnosis. The docs and the staff were very gentle and compassionate throughout the whole process. It made it a little easier. The staff here is phenomenal. I have never once felt uneasy about their care with my cats. They have always been super gentle and extremely kind. Never gotten an ick from anyone here. I wish all vets could be on this level. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
