Dr. Zabel and her AMAZING staff (Kristel, Kimbel, Anne, Katie) have helped our Charlie girl with Atopic dermatitis when things were looking pretty dire and out of control, even after being seen by 2 other derm specialists. Dr. Zabel's expertise and compassion are unmatched from our perspective. Charlie, a Chocolate Labrador Retriever, has gone from being antibiotic resistant, multiple ear infections and losing quite a bit of her fur to NO itching, her full coat of fur has returned, and her ears are clear. Many thanks to Dr. Zabel for 'hearing us' and our concerns and for helping Charlie to be the happy, fun pup she was meant to be!

Dr. Zabel at Peak to Coast Veterinary Specialists demonstrates a strong commitment to staying current with advanced veterinary modalities and specialty laser techniques. While standard recommendations for removing three cutaneous masses involved invasive surgery under general anesthesia, sutures, imaging, and systemic antibiotics, Dr. Zabel utilized a CO2 laser. This precise approach successfully avoided general anesthesia, cones, and heavy post-operative medications, resulting in optimal skin healing. She also efficiently obtained and submitted the requested perianal mass sample for histopathology. When managing a subsequent recurrent aural hematoma two weeks later, her clinical judgment was excellent. Her medical ideology focuses on targeted, modern care, and she maintains highly collaborative, transparent communication throughout the treatment process. As a local, private business, the practice provides an incredibly high level of dedicated care, and the entire support staff is equally professional and kind.

We are so lucky to have found Dr. Zabel and Peak to Coast. As Frenchie owners, you can imagine the amount of specialists our dog has in her life. And Dr. Z is one of the most special ones! She’s caring, resourceful, knowledgeable, and amazing at what she does. It’s incredible to watch her diagnose and work with animals. She’s so thorough and uses technology in a way I’d never seen before. After our first consultation for allergies, we walked away with a care plan that did wonders for our dog – and had a plan of action for the future. We cannot recommend Dr. Z and her entire staff enough. We love that it’s independently owned and operated! Our Frenchie is in such good hands. If she had thumbs, she would give Peak to Coast 2 thumbs up!

My Labrador has had allergy issues for several years, including recurrent ear infections, sore feet, and painful interdigital cysts on all four paws. After just a couple of months under the care of Dr. Zabel, his symptoms have completely cleared up, which has been incredible to see. Dr. Zabel took the time to thoroughly evaluate his condition and made thoughtful changes to his diet, allergy medications, ear cleanser, and foot treatment plan. Just as Dr. Zabel was opening her new specialty practice, she diagnosed my kitty with an ear polyp that needed to be surgically removed. I was extremely nervous about putting my fur baby under anesthesia, but finding a welcome message on a whiteboard in the exam room on our first visit immediately made a positive impression. On subsequent visits, she put that same whiteboard to good use, clearly illustrating her treatment plan anatomically using terminology that I could easily understand. As a mom to purebred kitties, I've dealt with my fair share of unusual medical issues, but Dr. Zabel's approach is truly exceptional. Her straightforward, & pragmatic communication, combined with her gentle patience & sensitivity to my concerns throughout the process, gave me tremendous peace of mind & confidence in the care my cat was receiving. Dr. Zabel combines exceptional surgical skill with genuine compassion, professionalism, & enthusiasm for her work, & it’s clear that she’s compassionate about making both her patients & their humans feel comfortable, informed, & cared for every step of the way, all while bringing a sense of humor & infectious energy to what can often be a stressful experience.
