This week we had to say goodbye to the heart of our household, Cece'cat. I've entrusted the care of many kitties and dogs to Oakland Veterinary Hospital for decades. All I can say is I'm very grateful to Dr. Hart and Dr. Dorsey, and their compassionate care. I've interfaced with other Veterinarian businesses that feel like "business model" scraping fingernails across a chalkboard. Oakland Veterinary Hospital provides deep-experience, compassionate medical care for our precious pets that operates like a kindly business that genuinely cares.

Dr. Dorsey and Dr. Hart are the nicest, kindest, most professional veterinarians. They have nursed and helped me through four cats. I love their office staff. They try to get appointments for any of my fur babies, and when one of them passed away, the office gave a donation to a cat illness research. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate all their service and care for my pets. They are so reassuring and when the time comes for… Again, they are empathetic and sympathetic.

Absolutely a great place to bring your animals. Having been a previous client, I am able to bring my new dog Sebastian in with no hassles. Lucky to have them as my Vet. 5 stars without a doubt.

I felt nervous picking a vet given that I have a pitbull mix who can be difficult at the vet. It was clear to me the vet is not a pitbull hater, she was very kind to me and my dog and I feel very comfortable coming back here.

The Doctors and the staff here are amazing! They literally saved my 13yr old pomeranian's life a few years ago and I still can't thank them enough. They always provide me with options as to the type and level of care I want or can afford my pet. They take the time to explain the different situations and illnesses I've encountered with my pet which helps tremendously in my decision making. Again, I cannot thank them enough for all that they've done and continually do. Rick L

My cat Izzy and I saw Dr. Hart there for 15 years and she was great. My closest and dearest friend recently went into hospice with pancreatic cancer stage 4. Because of emotional stress I forgot to come back with my card as I forgot it. And for the same reason I completely forgot I owed them $105.00. Dr. Dorsey wrote me a 2 sentence note kicking me out of their service. After 15 years of being on time and never before having any discrepancies with payment. I wrote her a letter explaining that I did then make the payment and how my sweet cat Izzy loves Dr. Hart and apologizing for the mistake, she never got back to me. I think this is just what I DON"T want in a vet. Zero trust even after a perfect track record of payment for 15 years, and kicking us out with no compassion that sometimes one makes a mistake. Dr. Dorsey should not be practicing with animals. She is cold, sarcastic, unforgiving and only cares about the $ her business can bring her. Awful. Just absolutely horrible.

If I could rate a zero I would. My Newfoundland Bouncer has been a patient since he was 8 weeks, he’s now almost 9. So I’ve been going consistently for 10 years, spent a lot of money. I had a few questionable visits & staff mistakes but overall I was pleased with the services. The staff was always apologetic when any mistakes were made. But on June 22, 2022 things took a disappointing turn. Hurtful quite frankly. The new staff is rude. After Bouncer’s boarding facility notified me he needed a vaccine update, I called his vet, this vet for a drop in. I was told to come in during a set time frame so I rearranged my work day, including critical meetings. I arrived and was told the receptionist had made a mistake & to seek service elsewhere. I was in shock because I had received decent customer service in the past, so I said I’d wait for the doctor who knew me. I was told she was prepping for surgery so I opted to wait for a fair resolution. I was then met with more aggression & told to "leave the premises" as if I were a criminal. I never yelled or used profanity. I was simply firm on my stance that they should accommodate because it was their mistake. I tried to get in for an annual visit but was always told they were short handed due to Covid. I eventually left in total shock after I asked for a print out of the 10 years of services rendered. I had decided I wasn’t going back. Yesterday I received a letter, I thought it was going to be an apology, but instead it was the opposite, see pic. I took the letter as confirmation & pray no one else experiences the horrible service I did. Ralonda Cunningham
