I’m really disappointed with the service at Vetco Clinic. The person I dealt with was neither friendly nor professional. There seemed to be a lot of miscommunication within the team, which only made things worse. The day before my appointment, I received a call saying that the blizzard might cancel it, but I could come in as a walk-in the next morning for my dog’s appointment. When I arrived, the staff member seemed to have a personal issue with dogs from breeders. I’ve brought my two rescue dogs here in the past without any issues, but this time, the experience was frustrating and uncomfortable. My puppy had already received two vaccines from the breeder before we took him in. Due to multiple snowstorms, we were delayed by three weeks in continuing his vaccinations. Despite that, this lady insisted on making us redo all of them, which felt completely unnecessary. It left me feeling frustrated and disappointed with the lack of understanding and flexibility. I won’t be returning to this clinic with our new dog nor my other two dogs, nor can I recommend this vetco location in good faith. This took place 10am on February 22nd, 2026.
I just visited the Norwalk, CT location at 431 Westport Ave for shots for my pup and was met with a very rude employee at check in for the Vetco clinic who made me feel very unwelcome. I am new to the area and was 10 minutes late for my appointment. When I arrived, there were two assistants at the desk, a man and woman. The woman approached me and I told her that I had an appointment and I am definitely running late. She said that it was okay and began to check me in. The male assistant, whose name I believe is Antonio, said to me in a very condensing tone, "You do know that you are twenty minutes late to your appointment, right??" (I will point out my appointment was for 1:05pm and I arrived at 1:10pm). I asked him if I needed to reschedule or leave because the first thing I mentioned is that I understood I was late. I explained to both assistants that I am new to the area and didn’t realize how far away from home it was. I did not like being talked to that way. To have someone with that nasty of an attitude be the first line of defense of literally checking customers in is completely unacceptable. I felt very unwelcome and wanted to leave before my pup even got treatment. The other staff members were super nice and helpful. If it wasn’t for him, I would have given my visit 5 stars.
I took my dog to Vetco for a series of routine vaccines, and while the staff was very sweet, the experience was concerning. One of the vets gave my dog a single shot and said he was done. I was very confused because he was not getting only one vaccine. When I asked which one it was, she said it was for Lyme, which he was not supposed to get. We had purchased a routine package that did not include Lyme, so they administered a vaccine we did not consent to. As they continued with the other vaccines, they kept incorrectly noting where each shot was given and weren’t very helpful in holding my dog steady so I had to do it myself. He was a good sport, but after getting more pricks than needed, they tried to inject him again while he was moving until I asked them to pause so I could help him get comfortable. It was a bit bewildering. Thankfully, my dog had no reaction and I wasn’t charged for the error, but this was a SERIOUS mistake that could have been dangerous for another pet. I hope Vetco takes this as an opportunity to improve training and double-check procedures going forward.
Brought our 16-month-old adopted puppy to get fully caught up on vaccines. The vet was very knowledgeable and gave great advice. We’ll definitely be back!
I usually have great experiences at Vetco. The vet technicians who give the vaccinations were friendly, kind, gentle, and professional with my dog. They truly made the visit easy and stress-free. Unfortunately, one of the check-in members his time wasn’t as positive. The same person who greeted us and took our information who was basically just OK, however, later accused me of not picking up after my dog. There was a huge pile of poop on the floor located just outside the room where the shots are given. My dog only weighs 14 pounds and the poop was far too large to have come from her. I always clean up after my dog, and I take pride in being a responsible pet owner, so this was both upsetting and embarrassing. I hope this feedback helps improves the attitude of the intake crew, because the vaccination team is wonderful, and I’d love for the entire experience to reflect the same level of care and professionalism that they consistently provide.
I’ve had overall great experiences up until yesterday (10/25/25) The vet did not handle my kitten good at all. Instead of reaching inside the carrier to grab Luna, she turned the carrier upward shook it until my Luna landed onto the table then she jumped off. To top it off her assistant did not know how to hold her in place either. I had to jump in to suggest a treat . It was then that my poor Luna was distracted enough to stay still.
I showed up for my cat’s appointment just to find out that they decided not to show up that day and never notified me of that. The store manager offered no apology or help and I was told "tough luck". I understand that they offer lo cost vaccines, but they should have at least given notice that they would not be available or offered to rectify the situation. I even informed them that my cat gets stressed out and car sick anytime she is in the car and they couldn't care less. They do not care about your pets.
