Veterinary Emergency Referral Center

My wife and I drove to VERC from Lawton in the middle of the night with our 11 month old kitten, Archie, because we were afraid he'd ingested fiber glass insulation, turns out it was just a bad upper respiratory infection. The young ladies who checked us in were very friendly and helpful. A vet/tech quickly came out and assessed us. We had to wait awhile because there were other patients in front of us, which was fine. The waiting area was comfortable, there were water bottles and coffee pods available, and the tv was on. The vet who saw us (can't remember her name) was extremely friendly, gentle, and took our concerns seriously. She reassured us and gave us antibiotics and a mouthwash to help the pain in his throat from coughing. The fee to be seen was $125 (if I remeber correctly) which was by far the best price we'd found for an ER vet. The meds and everything else were around $130. All together it was a lot less than I expected to spend. This is the only Emergency vet we'll be taking our pets to from now on. We had to take an hour trip to this office from Ardmore in the middle of the night. Thankfully my Basset only had a bloated gut and not twisted, requiring only some induced vomiting. The staff were so welcoming and sweet. My dog wagged her tail every time the vet entered the room, even though she felt terrible. Overall, best experience we could have in that situation and I appreciate them and their kindness.

As soon as you walk thru the door, or even pull up frantically with your hurt baby in the backseat, they run out to help. The receptionist is a very sweet lady and so are all of the nurses. Very very compassionate. The Vet treated us like family and was very compassionate. I really appreciate everyone and everything. ❤️

So grateful to have an emergency vet close by. We live in Blanchard, OK. Our 14 year old chihuahua, Manny, went into heart failure two weeks ago. We were sleeping and awakened by his labored breathing. His decline was so fast with no warning signs. I called the Veterinary Emergency Referral Center. The tech on the phone was amazing. We took Manny in and Michael G. Linville, DVM was working. He and the tech put Manny on oxygen so he was immediately given some relief. He assessed our pups situation and briefed us a few courses of action we could take. In the end, we decided to help Manny enter his eternal resting place. Again, we are so grateful this team of experts were there when we needed them. Thank you for being so kind and caring to our pup and to us! I posted your business card on Facebook so others could know who to call in an emergency.

After home CPR and reviving our beloved maltipoo from a choking incident, we wanted him checked out. Thank goodness for this place being open and putting our minds at ease. We showed up barefoot, in our bathrobes and our baby boy alive but unsure about how well. The front desk attendant did a great job of recognizing us from the frantic phone call and getting him back right away for the doc to check him out. Staff did a great job communicating what was taking place with exam and diagnostics and then discussing the findings and home care. We took our little guy home and within a few days he was back to his adorable self. He probably would’ve been fine without the vet visit but it was more for our sense of calm, I think, and we are very appreciative of them. Cost wise, there’s no price we can put on the lives of our fur babies so I can’t be entirely objective but I don’t think the fees were unreasonable at all.

We are very grateful for VERC. They've treated 2 of our 4 cats in emergencies and have been very calming and reassuring each time. This last weekend, we had to leave our baby Graham at VERC for overnight hospitalization, and they took amazing care of him and were able to stabilize him overnight and keep us informed on what was happening. Our trips there are expensive, but never unreasonable given the level of care they're providing and the fact that they're doing it in the middle of the night on the weekend. Thank you VERC team, we appreciate you!

We are forever grateful to the team at Veterinary Emergency Referral Center—they truly saved our dog’s life. From the moment we walked in, the compassion and professionalism of every staff member was evident. They went above and beyond, even helping us find a surgeon to perform a critical surgery for our dog. Both veterinarians we worked with were absolutely fantastic—thorough, empathetic, and clearly invested in our dog’s well-being. They went out of their way to make sure our pup was comfortable, and it meant the world to us. I felt completely at ease leaving him in their care, knowing he was in the best hands. The entire staff showed us such kindness during what was an incredibly difficult and emotional time. There aren’t enough words to express how thankful we are. They made an overwhelming situation feel a little less heavy with their warmth and support. We will never forget the care they provided to both our sweet pup and to us.
