We brought our 6 year old kitty here because we assumed she had a broken back and was paralyzed. From the moment we walked in they took her back. We barely sat down before they put us in a room. She threw a clot and there was nothing anyone could do. The vet working that night had so much compassion. I did not want to see her in pain so they put her down. I was able to hold her as it was happening. They let us stay in the room as long as we wanted. When we brought her we did not care about the cost. We wanted our cat to be okay. When they brought us the bill they only charged us for the euthanasia. We are forever grateful for a company that cares more about an animals wellbeing than making a profit. Thank VCA for how everything was handled and letting our kitty go over the rainbow bridge surrounded by love!
I highly recommend vca. Not only was every worker polite, kind and compassionate but my dogs care was top notch. His surgery went amazing and the dr has checked in on him multiple times since going home. The guy at the front desk (I think his name is Murphy) deserves a raise. He greets you with a smile and was so sweet to my pup. Again, highly recommend 🙂
Right from the phone this place was a nighmare. Have always had good service here. Saturday may 16th was the worst. Called before my husband went a the tech that answered the phone was rude. Then when I said I have been there multiple times with all my dogs I have had. Still do not know what is wrong with her. They did an xray with out consent from my husband. Sedated her so much she could barely walk. I used to trust this place but will never go back. Finally got a call back, still will never go back. The women that called is obviously a corporate employee. To do the X-ray there should have been a written approval. They told my husband they were going to do it, never said they were going to sedate her for it and gave her a double dose of one of the meds. My husband did not actually approve any of this. He just said they were gonna do it and gave him a price. He is a person that needs things played out for him. I could not be there because of a resent surgery. Being taken over by a big business shows here. Told the woman I will never use them again and she was just fine with that. And said as much. So sad no real care anymore.
Edited to add: the staff at VCA sent us a wonderful sympathy card a few days after Zoey's passing. That was so sweet, and really caring. Thank you VCA! Caring, compassionate, and skilled. We called ahead to tell them we were coming in and they had us on the "waiting board." We did not have to wait long, but our dog's situation was a rather dire emergency. I'm sure they triage there, because there was another family there that still hadn't been seen by the time we were done. We went home with her Saturday, and she took a turn for the worse on Sunday, such that she was showing all the signs the vet said would happen when it was "time." We called again, and they set aside a room for us. We went straight in, and the vet techs and vet took care of Zoey right away with care and lots of love. They let us have as much time as we wanted to say good bye, but we knew there were other emergencies outside, so we took a few minutes and left. Everyone there from the receptionist to the vet were kind and wonderful and supportive. The pricing was not bad at all.
We very unexpectedly and tragically lost our sweet dog of 10.5 years this weekend. VCA was very quick to give us answers about what was wrong and very honest but empathetic about his prognosis and what our options were. Everyone at VCA (including the receptionist, the vet techs, and the vet) was incredibly kind to our whole family in what was one of the worst days of our life. They graciously accommodated our almost 2 year old so that he could say goodbye to our brother and they gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye to our sweet guy despite having a busy day on their hands. Above all else, they were very loving and gentle to our guy in his final hours and prioritized his comfort and our time with him. They went out of their way to find him treats he would enjoy before he passed. Although we of course wish things had turned out differently, we were so grateful for their kindness and care on a very tough day for our family. We hope to never be back, but if we found ourselves in need of emergency care again we wouldn’t hesitate to bring a future pet here.
I had to take my cat here after he refused to eat for a number of days. We saw Dr. Thore who was very professional, kind and courteous. Overall we were there for 3.5 hours. It was a busy weekend morning and other emergencies were handled before us (I could hear the animals suffering and didn't mind), staff were extremely apologetic about the wait. All of the staff were very professional and kind the entire visit. For an EV, the pricing was very reasonable. My only suggestion would be to add seating with back support in the exam rooms. Once we got home he was given meds and ate within two hours. I'm extremely satisfied with our visit, thank you all!
We recently brought our 5-year-old cat into VCA Animal Hospital Middleton late on a Wednesday night because she had been vomiting for about a week and was very lethargic. Our primary vet couldn’t get her in for several days, so we appreciated that VCA was available. The initial experience was positive. We arrived around 8:30–9:00 PM and waited about 30–45 minutes, which felt reasonable for an emergency visit. The vet tech was very kind and attentive, and the doctor was also friendly and took time to examine our cat. They noted she had a fever and recommended X-rays to check for a blockage, which we agreed to. Afterward, the doctor mentioned there were a few "concerning spots," but nothing definitive. Bloodwork was then done and came back normal. We were told they would give fluids and nausea medication and send her home. We left around 12:45 AM and paid $1,149. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The next day, our cat was extremely lethargic—she wouldn’t move, eat, or drink at all. We were able to get into our primary vet on Friday, where they repeated X-rays and saw the same concerning areas. They then recommended a contrast X-ray, which ultimately confirmed a blockage. What’s frustrating is that this additional step was never suggested at VCA, despite the "concerning spots" already being present. Because of this, our cat had to continue suffering for several more days until she could have surgery on Monday. While the staff was kind and the facility seemed professional, we are very disappointed in the lack of thorough diagnosis—especially given the cost. We understand that not everything is immediately obvious, but we expected more proactive follow-up or recommendations given her symptoms and initial findings. Overall, a mixed experience: great staff, but we left feeling like critical steps were missed when they mattered most.
