If you love your cat, please avoid this place by any means necessary. Incident 1: Last night my son found an injured kitten and brought her in for help. The staff did not even want to do an exam and immediately wanted to euthanize her. Mind you my son was not asking for free care but these people did not want to give her a chance. Incedent 2: Three years ago my son had found another cat who was also a young pregnant female. She started delivering her babies late at night (she was carrying 4) and the first two died. I called the clinic and told them the situation and that she still had 2 more kittens to birth (she had an ultrasound at another provider but they close at 5). The lady I spoke with was so indifferent it was upsetting. When he got there, they checked the cat and said the kittens were alive and brushed him off. She gave birth to the other two kittens who died shortly after birth because she didn't know what to do and my son is not a vet. Thankfully the kitten from last night is now in the hands of a competent and empathetic vet at another clinic. Horrible clinic.
Had to take my cat to the ER for treatment. The staff and doctors were friendly, kind, and patient in explaining the steps they would take to make sure my cat was okay. I really felt like I was in good hands and it's really comforting to know that if we ever need ER services again that this VCA is so close! Courtesy coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the lobby is a thoughtful touch. Grateful everything went so smoothly. Thank you!
Don't come here take your pets to Bixby Animal Hospital in Torrance. My boyfriend and I brought our kitty here for urgent care 02/17/26. We were told to have our kitty hospitalized and to pay for him to stay. We willing applied to get the credit care credit card since it was a lot of money. We wanted to make sure our kitty was getting the treatment he needed. Once we left we got a call from them bout 1hr later saying we need to get our kitty to another emergency vet since they were closed the next day. This was so unprofessional like how does your staff not know its going to be closed. We felt like they only wanted our money. We went to Bixby per their recommendation and they were amazing. We were not able to pay using the credit care credit card even though vca said we could because the money hasn't returned to the card yet. Thankfully we didn't need it since Bixby was very affordable and didn't charge us for unnecessary services. I feel like VCA was just adding services to get our money and took advantage of us during a stressful situation. Now I have an unnecessary credit card... Save the headache go to Bixby!
The staff is incredibly rude and inconsiderate. This place isn’t equipped to run as an emergency vet. They will not tend your pet like other emergency hospitals including VCA chains. To be asked to wait hours and then told my cat won’t treated for hours is genuinely messed up to the patient: my cat. I went to VEG ER for pets and the difference literally made me cry. I was also quoted less $$ for diagnostics. Also, the staff isn’t medically competent. They were trying to sell me a lot of a diagnostics after coming back because he wasn’t feeling better. My cat needed an IV immediately. He was treated immediately at the new hospital. I’m literally paying 1k less and I’m being treated better + better lounge area.
This place sucks. Walked in at 8pm with my 6 month old kitten, the tech weighed him, took his temperature told me it was high and they were going to take him in back, retake his temp in 15 min and let me know. 1.5 hrs later- nothing, no communication of any kind, asked for the tech and 20 mins later still nothing. I was repeatedly told how busy they were, maybe there was a lot going on in back but I didn't see it, and only 1 person out of the 5 or 6 people working there moved with any urgency. After 2.5 hrs the dr comes in for the first time. She recommends bloodwork, pain meds and clean his wound. At this point i have no confidence in this facility and the idea of paying over $800 seems ridiculous. 3 hrs later i walk out $200 poorer and my cat no better off than when i walked in.
I recently had a concerning situation with my dog after business hours and was referred to VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center by my regular veterinarian. I called ahead, and they explained that emergency wait times are typically longer than a normal vet office, which makes sense given the nature of emergency care. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive. I was especially impressed by Britney, a technician who was incredibly caring not only toward my pup but also me, taking the time to explain options while being mindful of costs and still providing excellent care. My dog was stabilized, and we were referred back to our regular vet for follow-up in the morning. I am grateful for the compassionate and professional service we received, which made a stressful situation much more manageable. Thank you for the excellent care.
Dr. Wang excellent veterinary ophthalmologist. Our beautiful dog had "cherry eye," & Dr. Wang did an excellent surgical repair on our dog Pushinka. During first post ophthalmologist appointment Dr. Wang visually couldn't tell which eye she did surgery on because of no swelling or redness. We are forever thankful to Dr. Wang and staff. Follow up in one year!!
