We had a wonderful experience bringing our puppy, Levi, in for his first visit. The clinic was extremely clean and every staff member greeted us warmly as soon as we walked in. The nurse and veterinarian were both gentle and amazing with Levi, taking the time to answer all our questions and explain everything clearly. We also enrolled in the CareClub and we are so happy we did. It’s incredibly beneficial and helps ease any of my worries knowing Levi’s care is well covered. We’re so glad we chose this clinic and highly recommend them!

Lakewood VCA has been awesome for me. They went above and beyond to get my one dog seen for a nail infection that needed an appointment ASAP prior to me going out of town. I understand that’s not always able to be accommodated but they were able to get me in within 48 hours which was amazing. They took it very seriously and got him healed up fast. They had only seen him the one time but when they heard he passed away they sent me an extremely thoughtful card which I clearly never forgot. Because of my experience, I then made them my primary for the dog I rescued following the loss of my other baby. They are so responsive and kind as well as flexible. For me the experience goes beyond the vet themselves and it’s so important that I feel I can communicate with the front desk staff and they are SO good. The whole team has worked with me so well and that’s why I make the drive out to them now despite them not being local.

We love Dr Curren! She’s knowledgeable and very nice (and funny!). The vet techs are always kind and clear with the treatment plans. We’re extremely happy with our experience over the past 4 years and would highly recommend.

Always a pleasure. Fast but caring. I've taken my extended family there for a few years now. I take 2 dogs there. My golden Aussie and a American Bully. My bully has quirks and they do very well addressing them to care for his needs safely. He doesn't play well with outside the house animals and they provide safe entry for all. Doctors and Nurses are caring and attentive. Price wise they are on the higher end of vets but the service you get will make up for that. All in all I keep coming back.

I've been taking my cat here for most her life now but believe I am going to switch as she gets older. This place was nothing fancy, gave me about 10 minutes to look at my cat and that's it. There was a lot of upselling and misinformation given to me by the vet tech. They tell me a fecal sample isn't necessary one year due to them being an indoor cat and the next year I come in it is super important and i should drop off a sample promptly. Why the change? I suspect they're trying to claw every dollar out of my pocket and think another vet with my cat's best interests are needed. Take care.

First ever time here with my first ever cat, and GUARANTEED I will be coming back here. Scheduled out an appointment about a month in advance online, super duper convenient as I’m not a huge guy who likes calling on the phone. Appointment was today and I would argue it was a perfect visit. All the staff that I interacted with were extraordinarily friendly and very knowledgeable. They were very welcoming and comforting towards my kitten, who was extremely calm and very good in the office. They did some vaccine and blood work and not a peep from my cat. Literally my favorite veterinarian office. Even at the end of the appointment, they gave me and my cat a bunch of toys, and my cat absolutely adores the toys. 10/10!

Lakewood animal hospital came highly recommended to us but we had a very bad interaction. The appointment was made a month and two weeks ahead. Gave them my prior vet’s name and phone number. I was told my dogs medical records would be pulled so I did not have to bring the paperwork. Over a month later and it turns out they never contacted my prior vet. Our dog is a 51lbs pitbull, and he does get nervous and can be a little aggressive. We had a harness that had a handle on it, a 2 inch thick collar with a handle. A prong collar connect to the normal collar and a leash that is a rope with a 1 inch diameter, with the addition of a locking carabiner clip and a muzzle. All while my partner who is a 6’2 230lbs man was holding our dog. We knew this was overkill but rather be safe than sorry. And we understand the sometimes negative connotation pit bulls have. Definitely if they have even the slightly bit of aggression. He barked and cried. Growled 2 times. which I get is annoying but he was not actively nonstop lunging or trying to run across the room. The whole time the vet med is across the room looking at us incredible wide eyed, telling her coworkers i’m fine as they walk past. I completely understand being worried about an aggressive dog, but we had taken all the necessary steps required to bring our dog in. The dr denied us and prescribed our dog medication to get him to be calmer. Told us to come back in a week. At this point I already felt incredibly bad and very embarrassed due to staffs reactions. So my boyfriend takes the dog to the car I go to pay for the meds and book another appointment. After paying for the meds the vet tech says" when he’s at home these will knock him out once he get here and his adrenaline starts pumping it will be like he never took them". Then why am I paying for them if you just told me they won’t really work? What happens when I come in next time and my dog growls once, and he’s taken the meds given. Will you tell me he can’t be seen? I don’t know if this place has ever dealt with a dog with any amount of aggression, I understand it’s not ideal or fun for anyone but my dogs needs medicine just like every other dog. So we canceled our follow up appointment, incredibly disappointment as we waited this long for the appointment. We both took time out of our busy schedules as I work a full time 9-5 and my boyfriend is currently a full time medical student. Wish we didn’t waste our time.
