I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jacksonville Veterinary Surgery & Orthopedics. They recently performed surgery for my pitbull's second ACL tear, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. The surgeon was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. They took the time to explain the procedure, answer all of my questions, and made me feel confident that my dog was receiving the best possible care. The administrative staff were efficient, organized, and always helpful when it came to scheduling, paperwork, and communication. Every interaction was pleasant and professional. What truly stood out was the clinical team. They were compassionate, hands-on, and treated my dog with genuine care and kindness. It was clear that everyone there is passionate about what they do and dedicated to their patients' well-being. My dog received outstanding care, and his recovery has gone smoothly thanks to the expertise and support of the entire team. We have a 7 year old, 58 lb rescue dog with a permanent injury to his back right leg. As expected, his good back leg finally gave out with a torn acl. We were very concerned that with his permanent injury, surgery would be a long shot — that concern was quickly diminished when we brought Hooch in for a consultation visit with Jacksonville Veterinary Surgery and Orthopedics. Dr. Neihaus instilled confidence that he does these surgeries often on dogs with similar scenarios to our Hooch — and that overall success depended on the post-op routine, which was clear and detailed. With the holidays approaching, we were facing several weeks before surgery would occur, but Dr. Neihaus was able to get Hooch in the next day and perform a successful surgery. We followed the rehab regiment to the T and just got a successful 6-week check up. Hooch is healing well and close to being back to his normal routine. We went in fearing the worst, and left with confidence in this team and the care they provided. We highly recommend this team if you have concerns about your pet! Thanks to them, we have several more solid years with our Hooch!

Dr. Neihaus quite literally saved my dog Deja’s life, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Deja came to me after being surrendered, and she had already undergone a foreign body surgery by another veterinarian that unfortunately failed. Dr. Neihaus stepped in and took on a very complex case. He performed a second surgery, carefully resected the damaged portion of her intestines, and successfully corrected what had gone wrong. His skill, knowledge, and attention to detail are exceptional. Just as importantly, he showed genuine care and compassion throughout the entire process. I trust Dr. Neihaus with all of my animals without hesitation. I am beyond grateful for what he did for Deja and for giving her a second chance at life. Thank you also to the exceptional team that helped with her care and the very friendly receptionists.

JVSO was amazing. They got us in quickly for a tail amputation on my cat. They came highly recommended from our vet. The staff was friendly, the location is extremely clean, the surgeon was friendly & explained the entire procedure. Avery was especially wonderful. The surgery was on a Friday. Avery texted me all weekend to keep checking up on Popcorn. She is a happy & healthy cat once again due to her procedure. Highly recommended!

Wonderful experience for my standard poodle 🐩 who recieved her laparoscopic spay/gastropexy. Ramen Noodle the Poodle said the staff were kind and caring to her throughout the entire day and Dr Neihaus performed amazing surgery. Her recovery has been so much easier for us both thanks to the laparoscopic procedure and the doctors skill and efficiency. She also got a cute little recovery suit, in our favorite color, instead of a stupid "Cone of Shame". We both highly recommend them for all your specialty procedures!!

The whole team from front desk to the back did amazing with my fur baby Dakota on her ACL surgery they really care and we had a little scare 3 weeks after surgery and I called crying because she jump trying to get dogs that was coming at her I was scared my baby messed something up and they did a great job talking me down and getting her in to check it out the next day there all amazing there and Dakota is all healed up now and you can’t even tell that she even had surgery. Scar looked amazing and everything. She is back to her self running and playing they were the best. Thank you so much!!!!

Removal of a mass tumor in extremely delicate area on my chihuahua. Got clean margins and Coco is cancer free. Dr. Neihaus was informative, explained the surgery, and showed genuine care for Coco. He was extremely skilled in performing this type of surgery. The vet’s office called me for two days after surgery checking on Coco making sure she was doing okay. All of the staff and the Doctor were concerned and caring, when she had the sutures removed it was quick and she was fine. So thankful we went to them!!
