Animal Hospital of Oceanway

My dog has been going here for the last 3 years and we love Oceanway. My boy is reactive so the employees are super helpful & understanding in making both of us feel safe. He always warms up to them by the end of the appointment and Jessica is always a huge help. We won’t ever go anywhere else or at least, we go wherever Jessica goes 🙂

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this veterinary clinic. My cat became very sick, and the entire team treated her with such compassion, patience, and genuine care. They are not only deeply patient‑focused, but also incredibly considerate of us humans — explaining every step clearly, answering all my anxious questions, and making sure my cat was as comfortable as possible. Thanks to their skill and kindness, she’s healthy again. I’m so grateful for the way they cared for both of us during such a stressful time. The doctors and staff at the Animal Hospital of Oceanway truly are a gem in the North Jacksonville area, offering outstanding veterinary care when it matters most. I’m so grateful to have discovered them when my cat needed help.

The team here is amazing! I have never had such a seamless experience at a vet visit before. A special shout out to Jessica for being the best vet tech ever; her handling skills for extra large dogs are top notch, which is fantastic! Your babies are in the best hands here.

The staff here are AMAZING nothing but sweet and caring! I’ve had both of my puppies ( siblings) in to get all of their shots and they had an amazing price for a puppy package that made it super affordable! When one of my puppies was scared of the needles the vet’s comforted her and she was instantly safe and got some treats! Then one of the other times my kitten had gum issues going on and he was able to be seen in a timely manner and his gums issue was resolved quite fast with a proper treatment plan and medication! These are the best people out there for your animal babies, they greet you with a smile and show that they are actually there for you and your babies , not just in it for the money like most vets I’ve been to! So so so thankful for them!

Not only did they make time same day to see my pup but everyone was incredibly friendly from reception through the Dr. They were incredibly patient with my dog who was going through it and made sure he felt as calm as possible. They explained everything for me and was incredibly patient while I asked my questions and answered all of them with lots of patience and most importantly to me, without being condescending or arrogant (as I've found most vets/drs can be).

My senior pup recently had a couple experiences with a different vet that made us both very anxious about coming to an appointment. I warned them that he may be extra fearful, but that he also needed low-stress handling to keep from enforcing his new vet anxiety. Both the vet and tech were so patient, sitting on the floor and giving my dog a couple minutes to get to know them before beginning the exam. They were calm and gentle with him when he showed fear. We made it through the appointment without issue, and he was falling asleep in their laps by the end. Being this understanding and willing to work with a potentially reactive dog means so much to us! Thank you for being so kind to my Ollie!

Moved to the area last fall and have been looking for a new vet for my cats. Oceanway Animal Hospital was so kind and gentle with my cat when I brought her in for the first time I’m really impressed! The staff all seems friendly and caring. So happy to have found a great new vet nearby!
