Kalihi Pet Clinic LLC: Obara Alan DVM

Dr.Obara and his team took very good care of my Kiarah till she recently passed , very compassionate and very caring and now they are taking care of my newest fur baby Pono . Everyone there is amazing and so kind .

As usual, Dr Obara and staff took excellent care of my baby. I miss the pre-COVID-19 days when we could sit in the waiting room and see all the cuties on their leashes & carriers. I highly recommend Kalihi Pet Clinic. Parking is still rough when everyone is dropping off at the same time but the wait is minimal.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience here. We had a very sick kitten, and getting her in to see the vet took weeks. In the meantime we had to take her to emergency care which cost a lot of money. When we finally got to our initial appointment, the vet brushed off her clearly horrible state. Because of Covid we had to wait in the car, and it was not explained to us what they did inside or tested her for. The only thing the vet recommended was to try different types of food since she wasn't gaining weight, but we had already tried about 20 and we were desperate for other solutions. They didn't address her running nose or congestion or lethargy at all. I wish they had been clearer on what outcomes we could expect, as just a few days later our kitten passed away. The worst part is when we called the clinic to let them know and figure out what the heck to do, the receptionist said 'huh, that's weird. You can bring her in, and we will dispose of her'. This was the absolute worst thing I could have heard on one of the worst days of my life. I don't blame them for the kitten passing away, as she was sick for a long time, but their lack of empathy was shocking and I wish they had tried harder to give her care.

The veterinarian is wonderful. He really loves and cares for your fur baby. I could not ask for a more wonderful veterinarian. He explains everything he is doing and why. He tells you your options. He is willing to teach you what you need to know. Please do not hesitate to go here. Their prices are fair. Feel free to use me as a reference. I could not ask for a more loving veterinarian!

Love Dr. Obara.. he knows what he is doing and is friendly. We have two dogs and one cat and hes great with all three of them. Im not giving 5 stars b/c parking can be difficult and its 1st come 1st serve. So you can end up waitting a long time. But hes a great veterinarian.

Dr. Obara and Jennifer, thank you for you care and time you spent with us today. Your waiting room was filled with others waiting, but you gave us the the compassion to spend so much time with us as we put Wiley down. Our family can’t thank you enough, we loved him so much, but you both have eased the pain. You don’t know how you have helped us cope with this. It’s his celebration for what joy Wiley has brought our family. Thank you... you are the best!!!

Kalihi Pet Clinic is the best. We love knowing that Dr. Obara loves his animals. You can tell he really cares and that out dog is in good hands.
