Pet Care Veterinary Clinic: Dr. Dean Joines, DVM

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC. What happened here is devastating and unacceptable. A routine spay — a procedure performed every single day — ended in the death of my baby. She was a healthy, clean kitty adopted from a shelter, with no underlying health conditions. She went in for standard care and never came home. The lack of accountability afterward was just as disturbing as the outcome itself. Basic questions were dodged, responsibility was avoided, and transparency was nonexistent. Even more concerning: every time I post an honest account of what happened, it is removed. That pattern speaks louder than any excuse they could give. Repeatedly silencing negative experiences instead of addressing them shows exactly what kind of business this is. I am so tired of them treating this like they didn’t take my baby away from me forever. I am actively pursuing legal action and formal complaints regarding this clinic’s conduct. I will continue to share my experience so other pet owners can make informed decisions before trusting this place with an animal’s life.

Two veterinarians told me that Dr. Joines gave my cat a toxic overdose of medication. My cat died because of Dr. Joines negligence. If you love your pet, take it to another vet. He should have his license revoked!

The veterinarian and staff are always so rude. Every visit is the same. I had my sister take in some puppies for their first shots but I forgot they still needed one more week. So my sister shows up with the dogs and she’s waiting on the doctor to show up And right when he enters the room. He blatantly tells her "what do you want, why are you here" sister says "I’m here for there first set of shots" he says "what do you want me to do about it, they’re not old enough yet" "so what do you want" I was mad when my sister called me over the phone telling me what had just happened. Like damn why the heck did you have to be so rude about it. I ain’t never gonna come back to this vet

Now I know why your rating is so low. Worst experience ever. They wanna charge you hundreds of dollars and they expect for you to sit in hot weather ,in the car. Receptionist of the worst she needs training. I will nit ever go there again and will make sure my family doesnt either. Im so upset 😡 😫 Overpriced for the attention and care they give.

I'm extremely dissatisfied with the services provided, particularly regarding euthanasia. The costs seem excessive, and the customer service has been disappointing. I entrusted Dr. Jones and the staff with my pets' care, and it's disconcerting to learn about the treatment of other animals and their owners. Given the severity of these issues, I question the facility's ability to provide compassionate care?? Perhaps it's time for significant reforms or even closure to protect the well-being of pets and their families. This is unacceptable.

They took down my review! Here goes again: I took a sick dog and the DR ordered some tests through the assistant, to be done prior to seeing my dog. I told them I was considering putting her down and if the vet could just peek in because I didn't want to run up my bill. They told me that's the way the office was run and if I didn't have these tests, my dying dog wouldn't be seen. When the doc came in he noticed her in respiratory and cardiac distress. I decided to put her down. My dog didn't need a parvo and intestinal worm tests if she was dying; they socked me $100 more than I needed to pay. Shame on you and the way you run your office and MONEY is the name of the game. Easy to get appointments here but not always better. Take your furry pets somewhere else. Just read a post about how staff threw a dying cat into trash with other dying animals and they charged the family for putting cat down so it wouldn't suffer. The family found out and involved police and given cat back still alive few hours after they said he was being put down They pocketed the money. Harlingen,Tx.. whats up with animal cruelty?
