We are beyond grateful for the care and compassion shown to us and our dog last night. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with kindness, patience, and genuine concern. The veterinarian took the time to thoroughly examine our dog, explain what was happening, and make sure we understood every step of her care. What meant the most was the empathy shown not only toward our dog, but toward us as worried pet parents. We never felt rushed or dismissed. Our dog was treated gently and with so much compassion, which made an incredibly stressful situation so much easier. It is clear that this veterinarian truly cares about animals and the people who love them. We left feeling reassured, informed, and confident that our dog was in good hands. We cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, kindness, and dedication. If you are ever in need of a vet who treats your pet like family, this is the place you want to be.

I started taking my cat here after being diagnosed with cancer in January 2024. We came here to do his chemotherapy treatment starting in April 2024. We completed his final treatment in August 2024. Fast forward December 2025, my cat is still in remission! We have follow up appointments every few months. I'm just so thankful for Dr. Burr and the staff. They have been so wonderful and they always welcome us with a smile.

They managed to make the loss of our Nysie even worse. After spending over $8k trying to make her well and admitting to the inevitable that she would not pull through we went with an urn and paw for us to remember her. They canceled the paw. Our last thing of her is now forever gone as is her. I will not bring another of our pets to this place.

This morning my "regular vet" said my Coby needed to be put to rest. She and her nurse walked away and her nurse came back several minutes later to tell me they did not have the staff to euthanize him. It’s a Saturday, I have one sick boy, I receive devastating news and I got turned away. This caused me to panic and I started calling emergency vets in the area. CVS was kind and compassionate from the moment they answered the phone. Upon arrival, you could just see the compassion in the front desk workers’ face. She is the same person. I spoke to on the phone and I am so grateful for her. I am grateful for the entire staff at CVS as they were kind, helpful, and helped my boy rest peacefully without suffering or pain. Thank you for ensuring my boy passed peacefully, allowing me to be by his side throughout everything, and thank you for providing a comfortable area at a difficult time.

Our experience could not have been any better with the entire staff at CVS. From the front office staff, Abbey, the amazing vet tech and Dr. Christ, the surgeon, we absolutely loved them all! They took such great care of our chocolate lab, Charlie and we couldn’t be more grateful!

I will never forget or forgive them for how they treated us during an emergency for our Fur baby late Sunday night! I called before I came explaining the issue and not once was it mentioned that we would need to deposit $2000 before they would see my dog. When we got there I knew that my baby was in bad shape because he was very lethargic and not very responsive, we just wanted him to be looked at to see if anything could've been done. The intake nurse came out looked at him and explained for an examination and to make things go quicker that we would need to pay 2000 deposit, we explained that we didn't couldn't afford that and she agreed to just doing an examination for 230 just to see if anything could be done or to see what was wrong. She took him back and not 2 minutes into me checking in with the front desk and about to pay she brought my dog back out and told us the vet would not see him unless we paid the 2000. She told us that they we could try other vets and told us about a vet in RALEIGH! We found a vet off friendly which was 7 minutes away and decided to go there. We didn't get but 2 minutes away from this vet and my baby died in the car! I don't blame them for him dying but I do believe they knew he was about to die but instead of telling me that, they tried to get 2000 out of me and my family! I still took him to the vet on Friendly Ave. and they rush out to help me see if he was dead and then assisted me with afterlife plans for him! I don't recommend anyone to go here because they only care about how much they can charge you.

I will say if CVS didn’t have emergencies I don’t think they would be open anymore. Back story, I have an 80lb disabled dog. He can’t use his back legs. He also has UTIs often. My vet saw something in his bladder and wanted me to take him to CVS for ultrasound bc the radiologist there is top notch. Even though every experience I’ve had w CVS has been bad I said ok bc the vet wanted this one doctor to see him. I make an appointment. Now mind you before appointment my dog can’t eat after midnight and has to have a full bladder when I bring him in at 2 pm. I also have to have schedules rearranged to make sure someone comes w me bc he weighs 80lb. We arrive 15 mins early better early than late. I go in at 1:45 and check in saying dog is in my car bc it’s hard to get him in an out of car. Receptionist pages for them to come get him. 2:15 I go back up asking what’s going on. It takes her almost 15 mins to finally find someone to answer her. They say a CT scan went over. Ok and at 145 no one could have communicated that to anyone so I would know what’s going on. I ask how long will it be? They don’t know….i canceled appointment. My dog has been out in the car for almost an hour now and had I not asked I wouldn’t have known what was going on. So I spent 30 mins before hand getting my dog ready to travel 45 mins to get there and 45 mins before anyone could give me an update that I had to ask for to have to turn around and leave w no ultrasound done. Now since my vet is on vacation I have to wait till April 11th to get another referral for an ultrasound to see if my dog has stones. CVS lacks communication skills and all out compassion for their paying customers. I hope my dog isn’t in pain or something else happens to him before he can get what procedure he needs. I would rather drive to NC State than ever deal with CVS again. I can promise unless it’s an all out emergency and my animal will die within minutes I won’t ever go to CVS again. Anyone who would love to make money and win customers should open another emergency clinic who communicates and has compassion and CVS would be closed. I hope in the future there is somewhere better to take your animal in an emergency bc CVS just wants your money and cares nothing about you animal or about keeping the appointments they make.
