I've been taking my pets there for 16yrs. Only had 1 dr now a new one dr Somes. I love her already. You always know when a vet really cares and she does . She Gentle and my cats love her as so do I. I'm glad I have her . So this the second time I've been blessed with a good vet.

Place is okay, not great. They need to listen better, wanted a tech visit to get vaccines updated. They scheduled us for a full exam. After telling vet what we wanted as far as medications, etc… tech comes back in with an estimate with a bunch of shit I already told them we didn’t need… basically running it all down for me on a written estimate like I’m buying a used car. LISTEN BETTER AND QUIT TRYING TO "UPSELL" STUFF I ALREADY SAID I DON’T WANT.

Terrible experience, where do I start? Bad attitude at the front desk! I was completely ignored upon entry( I should’ve let then). If you are going to VCA because you’ve done so before just DONT. Let’s talk pricing. $121 for a wellness exam alone. I brought in a perfectly healthy dog and was charged $598 for wellness and vaccines! Customer service: You would think that in 2026, the year of AI, there would be a smoother transition of medical files between hospitals . They put a lot of responsibility on the customer - you have to have alll your medical records and judge you if you do not. they don’t even fill your prescriptions online they give you a physical. OBVIOUSLY VCA does not have a general standard for customer satisfaction or pricing . It’s actually shameful and they lost a long time customer.

The dr was great and knowledgable. But the rest off the staff sucks. Rude, uninformed, and lack empathy.

The worst. Bad attitude at the front desk. Always trying to upsell you. I moved out of state, my new vet requested my dogs records 4 times and they never sent them. Stay away from this place.

We are so lucky to be at VCA Arden. I am blown away by the kindness and professionalism of their entire staff: the receptionists, the vets, the techs. We have a medically complex dog and they have done an incredible job of helping us with extreme kindness and understanding. I also appreciate that they know so much about who to refer out to if a surgery is required or a situation is very complex. They’ve always steered us well and taken the extra time to make sure we feel confident and understand what is going on with our dog. The entire staff is so kind and wonderful, they’ve saved our dog and made our lives so much better. I can’t recommend VCA Arden enough. We love Dr Loo and Dr Philbin but honestly every vet there (and we’ve seen a lot of them!!) has been kind and compassionate and thorough which is everything you want in a vet.

I have taken 2 cats to this clinic and both times have been very hard on the whole family. With one cat we were told she had severely increased intracranial pressure (icp). They wanted to do brain scans costing over 3000 dollars. I am in the medical field for humans. When I asked about Cushings triad in cats (a sign of icp in humans) the entire tone of the conversation changed and icp was off the table. The next time I went I brought in a kitten who had injested a plant and threw up about 6 times and could not keep down water. I was worried about dehydration. VCA told me that the kitten had a debilitating life threatening disease and wanted to run tests for 1000s of dollars. When I asked the staff why they think its an infection instead of just a bad reaction to a plant, they had no answer. I asked about the vital signs. Normal temperature, normal heart rate, normal respiratory rate, all normal. No fever, no infection. I sat in the waiting room for hours. I finally demanded fluids and went home. The vet never even took the time to discuss the kitten with me. They just let the kitten sit there scared in her cage. This clinic tells you the worst case scenario. They don't look at simple things like vital signs. They jump to the most expansive and invasive procedures. My wife was in tears, the kids were in shambles. The cat has brain issues, the kitten has such a bad infection she might die. Both animals are safe at home weeks later, with no treatment and no tests from this place or any other. This place is 100% a money making scam. They pray on your emotions and dont consider the impact they have financially or emotionally.
