My cat had an intestinal cancerous mass (surgical resection and anastomosis) and a small skin mass on her face removed. The whole crew took great care of her and were communicative through the whole process. My girl has healed up beautifully and we're so grateful for the amazing care that was provided.
We came because our dog broke both front legs unexpectedly in our vacation. You guys were Amazing! You took great care of Enzo and us in the situation. Two days before we were to leave for home! Got surgery done flew home and you worked with our vet at home once we got there to continue excellent care. 6 weeks hard casts and 2 weeks soft couldn’t be happier! Enzo is doing great and back to business as usual in a few weeks. Just got the soft casts off. Thank you so much for all you did!
Thank you to Dr. Sullivan and the whole team at Southwest Surgical! Oakley needed a TPLO due to a CCL tear. She received surgery 8 weeks ago and her last follow up yesterday. Everyone’s communication was amazing from the day of the surgery to any questions that popped up over the last 8 weeks. We are so happy she now has a stable knee and can go back to her normal activities!
Our dog Milo received excellent care during his knee surgery and also during post-op care. The team was really responsive via the phone or texts and the office had a great texting program and they knew the history of Milo and his care which saved a lot of time explaining things multiple times. I recommend that you take your pet there for excellent care with a team of veterinarian professionals.
My 10 yo Golden Retriever, Summer, experienced a recurrence of grade 1 soft tissue sarcoma on her leg just a few months after a very large sarcoma was removed from her leg by our general vet. I decided to go straight to a specialized oncology and surgery practice rather than back to my vet to address this, despite the fact that SVSS is a two-hour round trip drive for us. While I have had good experience with my general vet for routine matters, the difference was night and day when it came to surgery. Taking your dog to SVSS for surgery is like checking yourself into a top grade human hospital for surgery. Everything is thoroughly explained, risk factors carefully considered, overnight stay strongly recommended. The vet techs are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and take all the time you need to explain everything. I was very worried about easing my 80-lb dog into the back of my SUV after surgery and the slim young female vet tech simply bent down, wrapped her arms around my dog and lifted her gently into the car. No way can I do this!
I am beyond grateful to South West Veterinary Surgical Service for the incredible care they gave my sweet Sophia. From the moment we arrived, everyone there treated her with such kindness, compassion, and genuine love. They made what could have been such a stressful experience feel calm and reassuring. The doctors and staff went above and beyond to make sure Sophia was comfortable, safe, and cared for every step of the way. They took the time to explain everything to me and kept me updated, which meant the world. Knowing she was in such capable and caring hands gave me so much peace of mind. Thanks to their skill and dedication, Sophia is healing beautifully. I can’t thank them enough for treating her like family. I’ll be forever grateful for the exceptional care and compassion they showed us both.
Anyone who has a dog understands they are family, and there isn’t much you wouldn’t do for them. My sweet Aussie suffered a complete rupture of her cruciate ligament, and I entrusted the truly incredible Dr. Sullivan and her amazing staff to perform a TPLO so she could have the quality of life she deserves. My dog is 11+ years old, and I was terrified. The procedure was thoroughly explained, and I was given time to think it through. As I watched my poor baby become more depressed while hobbling around, I knew I had to move forward. I was an absolute basket case, but the incredibly compassionate team at SVSS sent updates, progress reports, and even photos of my sweet girl sleeping comfortably, wrapped in plush blankets by overnight techs who clearly love animals and understand the fear of not being there to comfort your baby. The post-op instructions were clear, and watching her heal was incredible. At our final nine-week X-rays, my dog was moving around without even a hint that she had ever been injured, let alone undergone a TPLO. Seeing her get excited about walks, patrol the property, and bounce around like a puppy reminds me that there are truly gifted surgeons who can restore a pet’s mobility and allow them to enjoy a long, happy, pain-free life. Thank you to Dr. Sullivan and the entire team for giving this incredible gift to my sweet girl so she can get back to being her happy, goofy self, and bouncing around like she deserves.
