Every time before we travel with our dogs I always research local animal emergency hospitals "just in case" so I don’t have to research in the moment. We were in Boise for a dog show followed by a work conference and our dog Luke had two syncope episodes. He’s young and healthy so it was very concerning. The team at WestVet were amazing. Reception was extremely helpful providing documentation we can submit to insurance. Dr. Lindberg and Dr. Doroudi were very thorough in how they explained the care plan and possible causes for his episodes. The transition of care from night shift to day shift felt seamless. They ran a number of diagnostic tests and while we don’t yet have answers we have a plan for further diagnostics once we return home next week. If we are ever in Boise and need emergency vet care I will definitely go back to WestVet. Vet med is a tough field to work in. These people are in this field because they care about animals and rarely get the kudos they deserve as we only see them if we’re having a really bad day. I have so much respect for veterinary professionals and the team at WestVet is phenomenal. Thank you for all that you do. We hope to get some answers for our little Luke so we can put worry behind us and get back to doing all the things.

They took such good care of my little French Bulldog, Lilli. She hurt her back quite badly and was facing surgery. The vets who worked with her kept me posted on her prognosis. They were honest with me about costs and they decided she could be treated medically. She is making good progress getting well. I am grateful to all who cared for her at West Vet. A huge thank you!!!

Our baby girl had a terrible episode on Thursday night at midnight and we ran her into WestVet. She couldn't breathe because her chest cavity had mysteriously filled with fluid. Everyone at WestVet was so kind and compassionate. They moved quickly to get her on oxygen and access her situation. They kept us informed every step of the way, giving us all options and their expectations on each, taking our love and finances into consideration. When Jazzy unexpectedly rallied and came back to a normal state the Dr wasn't afraid to say "Well, it looks as if she's decided she's not done with this World afterall just yet!". They spent over an hour carefully draining the absorbent amount of fluid from her little chest. They stabilized her, gave us clear instructions to return if things turned bad. They even gave her a mini spitz bath to save her dignity. We are very grateful for the compassionate care we recv'd from absolutely everyone there in our hour of need.

My dog had gotten into rat poison at a job site. West Vet is Always our go to for emergencies, like this. Everyone is kind and empathetic. Although Marissa was not our tech that day, she is especially awesome.

This place is the BEST! Though my kitten didn't survive FIP, they sure tried to keep him alive. The Dr's and nurses are knowledgeable, hospitable, caring & provide the best care. Not only that, but they sent a thoughtful card & seeds to plant a Forget Me Not for him. If it wasn't for Care Credit I don't know what we would of done for my baby. Financing is the only thing we would of had an issue with, it would be appreciated if payment plans with the hospital itself would be an option, but I hear that's most if not all vets, which is sad that in order to save a life money comes into play. My husband & I are very grateful for the staff at WestVet Boise ER. Thank you WestVet!!

West Vet was so amazing. They took my concerns very seriously when my primary care vet would not and were able to help me save our sweet Frankie girl from neurotoxicity caused by an extremely high dose of antibiotics her primary care vet had her on. What our primary care vet said was a "normal tummy upset" West Vet confirmed was actually advanced lymphoma. Identifying this is helping us to understand how to care for and prolong our sweet Frankie’s time with us. We could not be more thankful for them and the hard work their emergency vet Dr. Straight did and now the oncology department with Dr. Walters. We recommend their staff to anyone. Please always advocate for your fur babies!

Horrible experience! Mis communication for over 10 hours. They kept giving me updates on another dog with the same name. Brought it to the front desk, told doctor and nurse and when we were getting ready to be discharged gave me the wrong medication for the other dog, I caught it Thank God because all the pill bottles say is Archie, I would have not known if I was not paying attention. So disgusted. I did record all the conversations and will be filing a complaint and may turn it over to a reporter. Not OK and do bot want it to ever happen to someone else:( No apology, discount for their hours and hours of mistakes so I have no other choice. Wish the would have just done the right thing. I am on day three of discharge and not one call to check up on my Archie. Worst ever and according to most I talk to, they had the same opinion 🙁 I am so very glad i recorded it all!
