We had a very good experience here with our 13+ year old dog. This practice is now an uncommon place (unfortunately), that is, it has not been purchased by Private Equity and then had its practices and prices fixed, which is sadly the case now with so many other veterinary practices and labs. We were impressed by the knowledge, experience, and "bedside manner" of the doctor and staff -- overall just a very good experience.
I took my dog here for trouble with her eyelid and would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Smith and his practice. Dr. Smith and his staff are kind, attentive, and take time to explain and show you everything going on with your pet. They even stayed open late to make sure my dog received the care she needed. While I hope not to have issues again, I would definitely go back to Animal Eye Care Center and recommend to anyone needing eye care for their pet. Two years ago I visited a different vet ophthalmologist for a similar issue and had a horrible experience . If you need a vet ophthalmologist, go here.
I would highly recommend this office! Second opinion, referral for eye issues, etc. Great experience with Dr Eric Smith and his team. Our regular vet wasn’t sure what was going on with her eye(said it looked like an injury that scarred over and referred us to a specialist) I scheduled the appointment over the phone and the person who answered was kind & explained everything. They were able to schedule for the same week, but my schedule didn’t work out. For a specialty appointment I find the cost to be very appropriate. My husband took our 5 year old pup in, Dr Eric Smith did his specialized exam and diagnosed her with chronic superficial keratitis in both eyes, needing treatment for life to prevent blindness. I’m so thankful for his care in diagnostics, my dog did well with her exam, the Dr was great with her and after about a week her very inflamed & hazy left eye has cleared up considerably following the medication regimen Dr Smith prescribed, just as he said it would! She goes back in a couple weeks for a reexamination of her condition. Thank you to the team at Animal Eye Care Center as they have professionally diagnosed and helped treat a blinding disease in our middle aged beloved family pet. Thank you!
Dr. Smith is the absolute best. He was so knowledgeable, empathetic, and a true advocate for my cat Molly. When my local vets ran the wrong test, Dr. Smith and his office were on it and had my local vet redo it. I thought my cat had a fatal disease (FIP) due to my local vets giving me incorrect information from a different test, but by reviewing the test results from my local vets and double checking their work, he was able to confirm his suspicion that she is healthy. This was so important to me after going a week or two thinking my cat was not going to make it (and it only took that long because at the time Dr. Smith was out of office for a week or two, maybe for a vacation), but the day he came back from vacation he called me immediately to let me know that the wrong test had been done by the other vet and that he truly didn’t think she had FIP but he’d have them run the right test just to be sure, and he was right - she’s fine. He also went over the pros and cons of taking her eye out and the consequences for each so I could make an informed decision. He even gave me a call afterwards to make sure she was doing well after the testing issue was rectified. All around fantastic vet. Definitely the best of the best and 100% worth it. So glad I was able to work with Dr. Smith and his staff!
Dr Smith and the staff is amazing!!! We have been coming here for years with eye issues for several.dogs. follow ups are quick and very informative! Love the practice!!!
Dr. Smith is comm passionate and caring. The staff is attentive and gentle with my anxious granddog.
Dr. Smith and staff are amazing! They saw our pug on very short notice, correctly diagnosed her issue, and have provided peace of mind that we haven't had for the last couple days. Our pug isn't really a fan of Veternarians... Dr. Smith was the exception. She actually wanted to follow him out the door when he left the exam room! So, 2 paws up from Gigi and me!
