Westcliff Animal Hospital
📍 Cat veterinarians in Fort Worth
Westcliff Animal Hospital in Fort Worth offers a mixed experience for pet owners. While many clients praise the compassionate care and professionalism of the staff, particularly Dr. Heinrichs, others have reported inconsistent service and rudeness during emergencies. The hospital provides excellent facilities and a range of services, including cremation assistance, which is highly appreciated by grieving pet owners.
However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the hospital's approach to urgent care, noting that they were redirected to emergency services for sick pets. Despite these concerns, the hospital has made significant improvements over the years, with a modern facility and dedicated veterinarians who are willing to address any questions or concerns.

We regret to inform you that we have decided to change our review of Westcliff Animal Hospital from five stars to one or zero stars after experiencing a tragic incident. We had been taking our dogs to this animal hospital for around 12 years, but when one of them fell sick, we called to get her an appointment. However, the staff informed us that since it had been a couple of years since our last visit, we were no longer considered clients, and they would not work her in. Furthermore, the staff member we spoke with was quite rude in her manner. Despite our efforts to find another veterinarian, our dog tragically passed away that same night. It is disheartening to realize that 12 years of loyal business meant nothing to them.
I recently had to have my beloved 15-year-old Jack Russell put down. The vet and staff couldn't have been kinder and more compassionate during this difficult time. She passed away as peacefully as I could have hoped for, given the nature of her illness. It was a big help that Westcliff was able to send my dog's remains on to a cremation service. I received her remains in a sweet little box with her name and a very kind note and some little remembrances. The fee for all this was so reasonable I couldn't believe it.The vets and the staff are just the best.
Dr. Heinrichs is caring, compassionate, and willing to answer any and all questions you may have. Without judgement. I will definitely continue taking my fur baby to her, regardless of where we live!
Wonderful staff, took care of my cat and were so understanding. She didn't even have to leave her crate, we just opened the top half. Love the new building too!
We love dr Cass. She is the very best veterinarian I've ever met. Her bedside manner is outstanding! She is a healer of animals, large and small. I'm so happy she's in my life!
I’ve been going to westcliff since 2011 when they were at their old location. They have come a long way since then. From a location that was barely updated to a new location that is updated but on a busy street. Either way would suffice seeing as how they treat their clients and animals. They could see me in a cardboard box and I’d still be pleased because of the results. Their staff is kind and thorough. And when you have a dog on a forever med they are Johnny on the spot with refills. Thanks for everything!
This is a very mixed opinion. I went to Kathryn Heinrichs a few years ago, and was delighted to find somebody who actually thought about things and could give you an intelligent answer, instead of just throwing cortisone at everything, which it seems so many local vets do (I have had cats and dogs for 40 years now, in Dallas, Arlington and Fort Worth, so I know). Then gradually, it turned out that they only wanted to see pets for things that were scheduled far out, like surgeries or vaccinations, say. If your pet is sick? And needs attention that day or the next? They would send you to the emergency hospital! To me, that is not what a vet is for. They're for sick animals, not well ones. When my second dog died that had been in their care for several years, I was not there. My husband went in that same day, luckily, for my dog had had a stroke that morning and needed help during the day, right then. My husband was treated very rudely by the receptionist, even as he was carrying my disabled dog in who was about to die! Then he was informed by the vet herself that we were always coming to them for emergency care and that was not okay...even as my dog lay on the table and needed to be put down, being in a stroke state. My husband was already extremely torn up about it, understandably, even before he went to the vet. We are not going back, needless to say.
