Took exceptional care of my 13 yr 9 mo old GSP for her oncology CT scan. Wasn't the best news, but also found out that her blood work was good and her organs were still functioning good. so we still have time to quality time to spend with our baby. As it has always been, it is all about spending as much time with the furry family members who provide the most joy and unconditional love only found in God. Loving them is easy, missing them is hard! Make every moment count! God & Dog❤️‍🔥

On December 31st 2025, I went to let my mother-in-law’s boxer, Bodie, out to use the bathroom. Bodie suffered from pancreatitis. Upon entering her home, Bodie had vomited so much inside and outside his crate. When I left him out, he immediately went outside and started vomiting more. I quickly put his harness on him and helped him into my car. We drove straight to VCA. I arrived and was checked in at 12:15pm. A tech came and spoke with me at 12:30pm and took Bodie to the kennels. I WAITED for 6.5 hours. I finally went to the desk and told them I had been there for 6.5 hours. The receptionist called to the back, spoke with a technician, and said that they were seeing critical patients only and the wait would be longer. They did not deem Bodie critical. At that point, I asked for Bodie to be brought to the front. The tech commented that "he hadn’t vomited or had diarrhea since being in the kennels." As soon as we went outside, he had diarrhea. I took him back home and told my mother-in-law I would pick him up in the morning and take him back to VCA to be seen again. I did have to take him back to VCA the next morning to be cremated, because he died overnight.

I've unfortunately had to come here twice, however, very pleased with both times. First, they had to care for my cat overnight and kept me updated just as they said. Answered all my questions and told me what was happening consistently. Second, I was very pleased with the Ophthalmology Department. My cat had iris melanoma. Dr. Budelsky and Teresa were wonderful for the two years of watching and seeing my cat's eye. I was very worried, but they always answered my questions and responded to all my emails. They have so much knowledge and know what they are doing, you should trust them with your animals. I know not every experience is like this and each time can be different, but I'm very thankful to have these people.

This hospital saved my dog’s life, and I will be forever grateful to all the staff. She was brought here in critical condition after a routine spay at a nearby low cost facility turned into a life-threatening emergency. I was terrified and overwhelmed, but from the moment we arrived, the doctors and staff treated my dog with urgency, skill, and compassion. They didn’t hesitate when she needed a third surgery and plasma transfusions, and they took the time to explain everything to me while I was trying to process the fact that I might lose her. Without their quick action and expertise, my dog would not be alive today. What stood out most was the care and humanity of this team. They treated my dog like a beloved family member, not just another case, and they treated me with kindness during one of the worst moments of my life. They gave me honesty, reassurance, and hope when I needed it most. Because of this hospital, I got my dog back. I got more time, more memories, and a second chance I will never take for granted. If you ever find yourself facing an emergency with your pet, this is the place you want to be. They are true lifesavers.

Truly grateful for the timely and thorough care my cat Nala received after her stroke. While we weren’t contacted with updates, staff was very friendly and happy to provide information every time this anxious cat mom called to check in. Thank you Dr. Cross and team (including front desk!). You all made a terrifying situation navigable with your gentleness and willingness to help. ❤️

We were recommended here to see Dr. Tobias because our boy Remy was having a bit of lameness to his right hind leg and x-rays showed possible hip dysplasia. They had to sedate him to redo his x-ray's and perform an exam. They were very great at communication and got him done fairly quickly. She was very thorough and took her time to really explain things and give us the opportunity to ask questions. Highly recommend if you are in need of an orthopedic doctor for your fur babies.

We don’t have enough words to describe how AMAZING Dr. Cross and his team in neurology have been over the past year. For two years, while we were living in California, our German Shepherd, Ruby, was misdiagnosed by several doctors with what we were told were inflammation and old age issues. Things got so bad that she could barely walk on some days. She was 7 years old at the time, and we were sure the end was near. She had gone from being an active and rambunctious girl to just lying on the floor. Every morning, she would cry at the top of her lungs when she had to get up off the floor, as well as throughout the day any time she had to get up. From the start, Dr. Cross knew exactly what was going on. He ordered tests, CT scans, and bloodwork, and within five hours that same day, we knew what was wrong with her—which had nothing to do with her age or inflammation. Nowadays, while she is still on a minimal amount of medication, Ruby runs up and down stairs, plays around, and chases her ball like she is still a puppy. She will be turning 9 years old next month, but she is as active as she was as a young pup. Thank you so much, Dr. Cross, Amanda, and Whitney, for your patience, for answering our emails, for following up with every prescription refill, and for treating our girl with the dignity she deserves. We are eternally grateful to you for giving us our Ruby back. The front desk staff is wonderful as well! Amazing they are always smiling even when the waiting room is packed with inpatient dogs and their owners. Overall VCA Fishers has been AMAZING. Worth the 45 minutes drive in each direction.
