I am so grateful for the emergency pet clinic in Encinitas. I brought my cat in after he started throwing up repeatedly, and I was extremely worried. From the moment we arrived, the staff was compassionate, calm, and reassuring. They treated my cat with such care and took the time to explain everything clearly, which helped ease my anxiety during a very stressful situation. The veterinarian (Dr Campbell) & vet techs were thorough, kind, and never made me feel rushed. You can truly tell they care about both pets and their owners. I’m incredibly thankful for the quick attention and professionalism we received. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who needs emergency care for their pet—you’ll be in excellent hands. The team did blood work, X-rays, ultrasound , fluid, etc. They were so efficient and thorough I included a photo of my kitty before going to the clinic (looking lethargic next to water bowl) and him immediately when we got home (so relieved).

I cannot recommend VEG enough. They truly saved my cat’s life. I brought Moochi in not realizing he was experiencing a urinary blockage, something I later learned could have been fatal. From the moment we arrived, the entire VEG team was compassionate, calm, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything clearly while also understanding how terrified I was. Hannah, the vet nurse, in particular made me feel so deeply comforted during one of the scariest moments of my life. Her kindness, patience, and reassurance meant more to me than I can put into words. That said, every single person we interacted with was amazing. My cat is a "spicy," boy, and they treated him with so much respect and care. What meant the most to me was that they allowed me to be there while he was being treated. Being able to stay with him during that process gave me an incredible sense of peace and trust, something that is truly priceless in an emergency situation. He even had his own separate area during recovery, which helped immensely with his stress. He has now been diagnosed with FLUTD, meaning lifelong management, and the team made sure I felt informed, supported, and never alone in navigating what comes next. I am beyond grateful to VEG and their entire team. I will never forget this experience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This was my first time coming to VEG. I was surprised to see the open area and how all of the people were working to help the pets and owners. I was blown away at how I was whisked into the treatment area right away and made comfortable, both my pet and myself. My Tibetan Terrier, Dottie, ended up having to stay for 2 1/2 days. She was very sick and would not have made it through the night had I not brought her in to the ER. My family came to visit a few times and were encouraged to ask questions about the treatment and her progress. The VEG team could not have made this experience any better under the circumstances. Praise all around!

Nothing but the most wonderful things to say to the incredible nurses and doctors that attended to our little bunny, Thor. He came in with GI Stasis and was not expected to make it. They saved his life twice, once via CPR and another in the middle of the night when they thought he might be giving up. They gave us the necessary time and ability to transfer him to the best exotic animal specialist in San Diego (Dr Cecil in Mira Mesa). And now after 5 days in the hospital, he is home in our arms. It’s the greatest gift I could have ever wished for and honestly a Christmas miracle. Thank you again to all the amazing people at VEG for your love, kindness, and compassion. ****NOTES to bunny owners: if GI Stasis happens to your bun, highly recommend going straight to Dr Cecil in Mira Mesa. He is the best exotic animal doctor, hands down.

Dr Campbell and the vet tech Dre were wonderful in their treatment of my lab Irving’s ingested marijuana. They immediately gave him an injection of an anti nausea med, one liter fluids and did blood tests to be sure organs were ok. I recommend them highly! .

Obviously one never wants to have to bring their dog to the emergency vet. However, if you need to go, VEG is the place. Within two minutes of arriving, I saw a doctor. The set up, physically in terms of where they see patients, is unlike any I’ve previously experienced. It’s a bull pen area and you can watch the doctors and talk with other patients and there's complete transparency over what’s happening. Highly recommend VEG.

Staff was amazing and honest , they really seemed to care about our goat and gave us options , the doctors were amazing. The doctors did not blow off our theories . The staff was attentive to my daughter , the linenes were clean and the service was notably very good . We got to stay with our goat and watch them work on her .. they consulted university specialists.. they truly did everything they could for my goat and now she's home and we are working on her recovery . Thank you Dr Mortimer, Allister and all the staff.
