Southpoint Animal Hospital is the most thorough, compassionate vet I’ve ever been to. I have been taking my cat (Roo) to Dr. Greif, and from the start Dr. Greif was extremely thorough in Roo’s exam! She was able to catch minor health indicators that had been missed prior, and we were able to intervene early. Roo had a procedure done here as well by Dr. Greif, and she treated, loved on, and cared for Roo the entire day he was there. She was also extremely vigilant in preventing any post-procedural complications! Jen, the nurse was extremely thorough with take home instructions, and double checked all meds and supplies to make sure nothing was missed, creating an stress-free transition to home! The entire staff at the facility is extremely compassionate and they have done so much for Roo!!!
People here are absolutely wonderful and you can tell they love taking care of animals. They've made my rottie feel so welcomed (despite his reactivity!) while still protecting their staff. My only feedback is organization of their records sytem. When I first brought my pup in, I sent his vaccine records ahead of his visit since we just moved to the area and wanted to give the provider time to review. despite me sending in the records, he was administered shots he had already received. i didn't realize until I went to check out and they told me the amount and what it was for. If I was not familiar with his records and advocated, this would have been missed and I would have been charged unnecessarily. There were enough checkpoints, I thought, where something like this shouldn't have gotten lost. I've requested vaccine records that have incorrectly stated my dog doesn't have immunizations I have receipts for. Please review records carefully. Wouldn't bring my dog back solely because for us, a priority is seamless services. I don't want to keep checking if i'm being charged for services we don't need, but truly from the patient care side, the people are great.
I had an in home euthanasia with Gentle Journeys for my sweet 10 yr old chihuahua Blue on Dec 23, 2025 after a rapid decline due to IVDD and osteoarthritis. Southpoint Animal Hospital was Blue’s first veterinary experience at just 6 weeks old and her last at 10. Gentle Journeys informed Southpoint that Blue passed and no one from Southpoint Animal Hospital reached out to offer condolences. It’s disheartening because Blue received all her care as a puppy with this practice and Southpoint is one of the last Vet experiences she had. I expected more compassion and empathy regarding pet loss from this practice. A simple phone call or email during this time of grief would’ve made a positive impact as these thoughtful gestures only take one minute. RIP Sweet girl Blue🤍💙🕊️
We absolutely love Southpoint Animal Hospital! Dr. Doyle and Dr. Garcia, along with the entire staff, are friendly, professional, and genuinely caring—not just toward our dog, but toward every pet we see come through their doors. We primarily visit this practice for routine wellness and preventative care, and the experience is always thorough, thoughtful, and never rushed. Most recently, our dog needed a surgical procedure, and Dr. Doyle did an amazing job. The care, communication, and follow-up gave us complete peace of mind, and our dog recovered beautifully. A friend referred us to Southpoint Animal Hospital, and I’m so grateful she did. We now confidently recommend them to anyone seeking compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.
I've been bringing my cat here for almost 10 years and Dr. Elise has helped me take good care of her. I had a lot of learning to do as a teenager and never had much money, but never once felt judged, and they made me feel like it was a safe space to learn. That's how veterinary medicine should be. Thank you so much to this wonderful team. 🩷 Venus loves you guys despite her spiciness.
We recently moved to NC from MN. My 15yr old Siamese, Elly, was due for her 6mo bi-annual senior wellness exam & blood work for another follow up of her T4 thyroid after having I-131 radiation injection therapy back in April. I found Southpoint Animal Hospital searching on Google which had great reviews. I requested Dr. Elise from reading her bio. She and the entire team were very welcoming! Dr. Elise & vet techs gave excellent care, knowledge and great communication which I appreciate. Our 8yr old Siamese will be seeing Dr. Elise in the near future. Thank you!
On May 18, I scheduled an appointment for 15:00 for my cat to receive his monthly arthritis shot. Having arrived 10 minutes early, I checked in only to realize that there was a clerical error on their part and had booked a nurse visit for a same-name pet of a different species. After correcting the mistake, they took me and my cat in for what should have been a quick 5-minute dosage administration. However, the nurses were neither ready to weigh my cat nor were they ready to actually provide the medicine. According to the nurse, they had given "their last shot to a previous patient" and ran out of stock unexpectedly. Though this was not their intention, their lack of awareness of their own stock felt like a reasonably avoidable issue. Their nurses apologized for the inconvenience and sent their manager to pick up the medication from a different hospital. Such efforts are appreciated to remedy the situation, and their professional communication was also appreciated. That said, it still left me with the impression that moving forward I must first inquire if they have enough medication in stock before scheduling my next appointment.
