For over 35 years, I've brought my dogs to the NSVH. Today, KC was diagnosed with a localized non-invasive cancer. Beginning next week, he'll begin a 2-week treatment. He is a 12-1/2 yr-old Golden Retriever and Black Lab mix, and has the sweetest disposition of all the many dogs who have made me their human. Dr. Lind took care of KC during his last cancer treatment, and she's caring for him again. She's really the best! All the techs at NSVH are great, but my favorite is Suzie. My dogs trust her, and she gives great hugs to the humans! KC. He is my lovey...

They do a really good job at recognizing and managing temperament. The call from your car thing takes a bit of getting used to, but you come to appreciate it. Awaiting surgery to see if they earn the 5th star.

If only they treated humans, I'd have them on my health-care team too! I was SO pleased with the care my dog Little White received here. Dr. Anastasia Johns was lovely! She earned my trust in her earnest review of my dog's case; she explained her thought processes and I felt very included and not pressured at all in decision making for course of action. She simply gave me her review with reasons and offered to explain further anytime I didn't understand or had more questions. Unlike other vets offices where I have felt if I don't have the right questions to ask, I would not receive the proper information, Dr John's was patient and thorough. It was great to have a discussion and work through possibilities together. My dog recovered from her long bout of bile vomiting with a shot for nausea, some prescription probitioics, and a short term diet of boiled chicken and rice. We had decided her health condition was stable and quite good otherwise to wait on the costly blood work and images for a next possible step, and it turns out they weren't necessary. I liked how Dr. Johns laid out all the information for me and provided me with some possible scenarios; it made my decisions for action much easier to make, and its never easy when it's juggling getting your friend the best care you can give them with what you can afford. I would also like to add that I really appreciate the thorough after care visit summaries and follow up phone calls. It's nice to have these things down on paper to read when it's so much information. This place is organized and inclusive!!
