Beaverdale Veterinary Clinic / Riordan Pet Hospital

If you are looking for a local, central Des Moines vet clinic this is the best one we have experienced in our 15 years in this part of town. The vets and staff are compassionate and knowledgeable. They have recently taken care of our very sick kitten, Sunni over a few weeks period of time and essentially saved his life. In the midst of all of this we lost our beloved cat, Maggie, who they had to euthanized with care and tenderness. We are forever grateful for their professionalism, tenderness and care.

You may not be able to tell from the photo, but trust me when I say, my dog and cat have literally never relaxed like this at a vet appointment. That kind of genuine TLC, us pet lovers know, you can’t fake it! So happy to have found our new family vet!!!!

The staff and doctors at Beaverdale Vet Clinic are the kindest, most compassionate people I've ever dealt with. My cat was sickly all her life and she was treated with care and compassion. I can't recommend Beaverdale Vet Clinic enough. This is the place for your fur babies to go for excellent care and love.

We have been going here for years and have nothing but positive things to say. They have always been able to get our springer spaniel in urgently when needed, and every single staff member - from the front desk, to the techs, to the vets have treated both him and us with the upmost care and respect. We always feel well informed as the care team explains everything well and spends extra time to make sure we are comfortable. Can’t recommend enough!

My pup loves visiting the clinic! Everyone is friendly, provides the needed care, reminders of shots are sent & they really listen to my concerns/questions. All around great pet care ❤️

Overall good experience. However recently my cat has had a uti and I was told that they would give her antibiotics for it. She has been taking her meds and no improvement. Just looked up the medication they gave and it’s just pain medication. Not antibiotics. The front desk explicitly told me this medication would help clear her system and possibly help with the blood in her urine. Point blank told me they were antibiotics. I am frustrated and concerned that my pets care has been hindered with this misinformation. Urinary issues are so serious with cats and my cat is suffering longer than she has to because of that negligence. On top of that my cat needed to go to the emergency vet for another 500$ the day after due to Beaverdale being closed and her condition getting worse.

The vet here is always so good with our puppies and clear about our options for their care. Just got my dog's teeth cleaned and I'm ashamed to say her teeth are whiter than mine now lol
