Dr. Leka saved our dogs life. There truly are not enough words to describe how amazing of a vet and human this Dr is. we will truly never forget the compassion he showed us. I thank god humans like Dr. leka were put on this earth.

I cannot recommend or thank them enough! I called multiple times late at night and Dr. Jovanovic was so kind, helped guide us in what to ask the urgent care vet, answered all of my questions, provided us with a clear plan of care, and showed genuine concern for our sick dog. He got us in first thing in the morning, he was so loving towards our dog, was empathetic to us, was so smart and provided the best care to our sick boy, and we just can not thank him enough!

From one anxious pet parent to another, I highly recommend for your furbaby. Dr. Leka was amazing and got my dog in on short notice. This office provides a telemedicine consult totally free of charge. My dog broke her tooth and needed a tooth extraction. Our normal vet was closed and all other vets were booked 2-4 weeks out for any dental procedures. Dr. Leka was very knowledgeable and personable. He allowed me to send him pictures of my dog’s tooth injury, provided a reasonable estimate, and got us in within 2 days! He offered the very next day, but I had a schedule conflict. Day of procedure, Dr. Leka allowed me to stay with my dog for her comfort until it was time for her procedure. I received a tour and Dr.Leka explained step by step the plan of care for my dog. My dog now has shiny teeth with a well healing extraction. Dr. Leka texted me personally to check up on her recovery and scheduled a follow up free of charge. Hope this review gives pet parents peace of mind needing Dental/Surgical care on their pet.

They truly changed my dog Izzy’s life—and mine. Izzy is 13 years old and had to undergo a left hind leg amputation due to a painful tumor. As you can imagine, this was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. From the very first interaction, this team showed a level of compassion, professionalism, and integrity that is incredibly rare. Dr. Asuka Iguchi was absolutely phenomenal. Before surgery, she took the time to do a thorough and thoughtful evaluation—double and triple checking previous records instead of blindly relying on them. She even performed an additional X-ray that revealed spots in Izzy’s lungs that had been completely missed just ONE week prior at an emergency vet. While that was scary news, I am so grateful she caught it because it allowed me to be more proactive about Izzy’s health moving forward. What truly touched me was her compassion—despite those findings, she understood how much pain Izzy was in and made the decision to proceed with surgery so she wouldn’t continue to suffer. That meant everything to me. The surgery itself was incredible. Dr. Iguchi went above and beyond by injecting pain medication into every layer as she closed the muscle, ensuring maximum comfort during recovery. The result? Izzy recovered beautifully. No complications, no visible scarring now—and most importantly… 👉 No excruciating pain. 👉 No heartbreaking crying after anesthesia. Anyone who has had a dog come out of anesthesia knows how hard that moment can be. But this time? Izzy woke up HAPPY. Calm. Comfortable. It was honestly unbelievable and such a gift to witness. I also deeply appreciated that the team respected my wishes regarding pain management. I was not comfortable using gabapentin, and they did NOT push it on me. Instead, they supported my decision and simply guided me to obtain an alternative (tramadol) through my regular vet. That level of respect is rare. A huge thank you to Vidi at the front desk/tech team as well. When Izzy’s tumor unexpectedly started bleeding heavily right when we arrived, Vidi didn’t panic or make us feel embarrassed—she immediately stepped in, helped us get Izzy comfortable, and handled the situation with calm professionalism and kindness. That moment meant so much to me. I also want to recognize Dr. Leka, who personally called me back in the evening (around 6–7 PM!) after my initial inquiry. Unlike MANY other clinics I contacted, he didn’t rush me into booking or just throw out a price. He asked thoughtful, detailed questions about Izzy—her age, condition, medications, and overall health—before agreeing to take on the surgery. That level of care and due diligence immediately set them apart. To be honest, I called at least a dozen surgical centers before finding them. Many were overpriced, impersonal, and more focused on booking quickly than actually understanding my dog. Some even asked what other clinics quoted me before giving their own price—which felt incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional. Animal Surgical Care of Colorado was the complete opposite. What we experienced there was not only exceptional veterinary medicine, but genuine compassion and advocacy when we needed it most. Our family's dog, Brutus, a big, lovable Great Pyrenees and Bernese Mountain Dog mix was having some health issues. Prior to finding Animal Surgical Care, we had been to multiple veterinary hospitals, each providing different information, conflicting timelines, and very little clarity. Everywhere we went, the experience felt transactional — conversations were reduced to dollar amounts and rushed decisions. It was essentially, "It will cost thousands of dollars. Do you want to do it or not?" No one truly took the time to explain the options, walk us through realistic outcomes, or make us feel like Brutus was being treated as anything more than another case or transaction. By the time we found Animal Surgical Care, it honestly felt like our last hope — and I use the word hope intentionally, because that is exactly what they gave us the moment we walked in. Brutus was in an extremely critical situation. He had several tumors on his spleen that were pressing into his kidney and causing severe internal bleeding. Time was not on our side, and split-second decisions had to be made. Despite the urgency, the doctor did not rush us or dismiss our concerns. Instead, he made the time to sit down with us, explain every possible outcome, outline the surgical plan, and provide a clear and honest timeline. For the first time in this entire ordeal, we felt like someone was truly advocating for Brutus — and for us. The level of care, professionalism, and empathy shown by this team was unlike anything we had encountered. They treated Brutus as if he were their own. We were not just clients. We were people who loved this dog deeply and wanted to do everything possible to save him — and Animal Surgical Care understood that completely. When my 11-year-old dog suffered a leg fracture due to Osteosarcoma (bone cancer), I was devastated and overwhelmed. From my very first phone call with Dr. Leka, I knew we were in the right hands. He took the time to genuinely talk through everything in detail and truly understand our situation. When we made the decision to move forward with amputation, Dr. Leka arranged for the surgery to happen within 24 hours. I was incredibly relieved knowing my girl would soon be pain-free and on the path to feeling joy again. The entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. The surgery went perfectly.
