North Tollway Pet Hospital

First-time visitor to North Tollway Pet Hospital, bringing my cat. The office Staff and Dr. were GREAT. Handled my cat with care and was in and out in no time. I was also able to receive 1st time customer discount. The doctor and staff cared about the health and well-being of my 🐈 I will definitely keep coming back.

I have never felt such kindness from a clinic as I have from these people. Twice I have had to unexpectedly bring in a pet to have them be put to sleep, and neither time have I felt judged or forced into a decision I didnt want to make. These people truly love their work, and the pets that come in.

They were able to get both my cats in short notice and treated my fur babies with love. They listened to my concerns and were thorough in their examination. The drive there was the most stressful part of their vet appt. They were sensitive to my financial constraints and were upfront about costs and alternate options. Best vet I’ve ever been to- worth the 45 minute drive in traffic yesterday.

We have been going to this animal hospital for many years and had always loved our experience there. However, recently, we took our dog to get her vaccines, a wellness exam, and additional services (gland check and nail trim). The appointment was pushed back to the late afternoon from earlier in the morning due to an emergency the staff was dealing with. When we arrived, we informed the technician of the reason for the visit and our questions for the veterinarian. After an hour and a half, we were told by the receptionist that we can leave. However, at that point, our dog has only received the vaccines, and we still have not seen the veterinarian (exam required by law for the vaccine) nor has our dog received the gland check or nail trim. We requested to speak with the veterinarian and were finally after able to speak with them after 2 hours. We were told that they were still dealing with an ongoing emergency. We completely understand that unexpected situations might arise, but we would have preferred to come back on a different date. Instead, we felt that our dog was not well cared for. This clearly demonstrated an issue with the lack of communication between the members of their team (front desk, technicians, supervising veterinarian) and with the pet owners and did not positively reflect on their dedication to care for all patients.

My Freddie (cat) had his dental done here and the staff were amazing and very friendly. They gave me a call when he woke up from surgery. The vets, both Dr. Pesagic and Dr. Maxwell were so lovely and personable. If any extractions were to take place they discussed everything and broke costs down. I was really impressed with this vet clinic and will be bringing my Freddie back, as well as my other felines when they need their dentals or other vet care! Highly recommend!

As a hamster owner, I didn’t realize how limited there were of veterinarians in the area with that specialty. So my son and I were thankful that we were able to get an appointment so quickly to help assist with his hamster knocking his teeth out.

My hamster had an abscess and the vets recommended draining the abscess. After going back several times to get the abscessed drained the vet recommended a surgical procedure. The procedure was botched and left my hamster in a far worst condition then when he came in. They were so rough with him that he lost his ear due to the trauma and infection from the surgery. Furthermore he lost total vision in one of his eye, again due to the trauma and force that was used during the procedure. How do I know this, because I had to take my hamster to another vet. (If you have a hamster take them to Dr. Rachel Siu, as she actually knows what she’s doing and looks beyond the dollar value of your pet) This establishment is a sorry excuse for a place that caters to "exotics" when it’s clear that they only care about charging you more for exotic pets, repeated appointment, and procedures.
