Dr. Manson, Dr. Liebelt, Rachael, Cyrus, Kelsey, Kristie, Veronica, Susan , Kim, Kristen, Becky and everyone did everything to help my precious Sargie, who was the last of all my rescues. I also took him to my regular Vet a couple times, but Sargie needed help on the weekend and I hoped an ultrasound would uncover something that labs could not. I felt everyone understood just how special Sargie was to me and my other rescues. Sadly, the outcome wasn't good, but I have some comfort knowing he received the best treatment available, while he was as comfortable as possible at home. My only suggestion is if there is a way to adjust the temperature in the waiting area, where it was freezing. I imagine pets can also get cold. I have to also say how much it meant to have knowledgeable staff available to answer my questions in the middle of the night. My deepest gratitude to everyone. 😽
We need our boxer for the first time and when she had a green discharge while in labor at 2am we wanted to make sure we covered all of our bases and took her to this ER vet. After giving birth to the first puppy in the parking lot upon arrival they ushered us into a room where they provided soft food for Nova( our new mama boxer) and blankets. They proceeded to let us stay for 4 hours until we were confident and comfortable taking her home to finish her delivery. They never rushed us out or charged us a dime. Our nurse Jessica was absolutely fantastic. She gave us great advice and commended us for bringing her even though nothing ended up being wrong. She answered all or our questions and educated us without making us feel dumb or extra for asking so many questions. She went above and beyond and made a stressful experience for ourselves and our dog so much better... She helped us with the umbilical cords for the puppies that came in office. I cant put into words how greatful we are. She even asked us to call the next night while she was at work to let her know that everything else went well. If more people in this world had the compassion, knowledge, and care that Jessica had for Nova and our family when it came to their profession the world would be a better place. Thank you Jessica and South Carolina ER vet for everything. We will forever be grateful to you!
Our cavapoo suffered a puncture in her belly. We got there shortly after midnight, were greeted courteously, and Millie was taken back within minutes. We met with the doctor in about an hour who explained results and expectations thoroughly. A couple of hours later, we were thinking it had been quite a while but waited patiently. We learned that we had arrived with an emergency in progress and another after we arrived. It was nice to know they will prioritize as needed. If you find yourself in need, we definitely recommend South Carolina Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care.
Came here after my dog started limping. Dr Kelly answered most (if not, all) my questions without me having to say much. Nurse Hannah was very thorough with Bear and patient with my questions about the medications. Even helped me look up a dog ramp for my boy. Front desk’s customer service eased my agoraphobia. The wait was long, but worth it. I would come back here again if needed. The nurses and doctors know what they’re doing. Thank you!!
My baby had his first dose of chemotherapy today and I’ve never left him anywhere. Dr. Ross and Jamie with the rest of the oncology team really put my anxiety at ease and the communication from start to finish is very clear. I can’t recommend them enough, they are an amazing team that will treat your baby as if it were their own. Thank you for all you do for our pets and showing the upmost compassion for them.
Thank you a million times over to Dr. Waschak and everyone at SCVS for their compassion and taking such great care of Pumpkin and saving her life! I was scared out of my mind over Pumpkin’s PSS diagnosis. Dr. Waschak and her team answered all my questions, providing expert detail and care in identifying the shunt through CT, flushing out urite stones, and surgically repairing Pumpkin’s shunt while taking great precautions with respect to the anesthesia risk at play here. Dr. Waschak is an incredibly skilled soft tissue surgeon and we are just so very lucky that she is practicing in the area. This is the second time I have brought a pet to SCVS and they have helped to save the day.
My 9-year-old Lab/Pit mix, Kona, is a patient of Dr. Barton and her wonderful team. He completed several weeks of rehab with them following his TPLO surgery and recently had a check-up to evaluate his medication regimen for ongoing osteoarthritis pain management. They are always incredibly thorough, taking the time to perform detailed exams while also connecting with us as owners. Dr. Barton clearly stays current on the latest therapies and makes evidence-based recommendations that I trust. Thanks to their expert care, Kona’s quality of life is greatly improved. They are simply the best, and we will miss them dearly when we move away from the area!
