We bring our pet bunny to Dr. Price. She is super sweet and prices are reasonable. She does not push tests or meds- but gently recommends them. I have found the staff to be kind and gentle with us and our bunny.
I have had a very rough past six months where I had a tragic house fire and have been living in a camper. We lost so many pets but fortunately we had run a cat rescue before the fire and several cats survived. We had a kitten who was only 4 weeks old who was attacked by another cat. Obviously money was tight and I begged so many places to please just help my kitten and I could definitely do payments and every vet said no!! They are supposed to be animal lovers but money is more important than a kittens life. Well not at Clinton pet vet!!! They took my kitten and gave him meds to get better and then the vet waived my fee because of my circumstances. Never will I take my animals any where else. God bless them. Five stars for a vet that puts the animals first.
I brought my French bulldog in to be neutered, I suggested while he's under anesthesia to remove the "wart" on his arm while he's out. The vet made the decision without consulting me, to not remove it because she didn't think it was necessary. 1 year later I emailed a picture of it (after it doubled in size) to her and she stated "It looks like a wart, I'm not really concerned". A few weeks ago I took him to another vet that actually tested the "wart" and found it to be a cancerous tumor. I called Clinton Pet Vet to schedule an appointment to have it removed for an estimated price of $500-$600. Much to no surprise the bill came to about $850. I asked if they would discount the price at all seeing as the entire operation could have been avoided had she actually did her job correctly. They refused to take off any amount of money and took no accountability at all. Any reasonable person would have admitted some degree of fault in this scenario and done what was right. But that's ok, I'll take my pets to Waterville Vet where they actually take time to make sure they don't send your dog home with cancer.
I lost my dog, Lizzie, two weeks ago today. I picked up her ashes on Wednesday, and her paw print today. Lizzie was my last dog, having gotten her and Dixie as rescue dogs in 2013. Dixie passed away last year. Dr. Price and the staff at Clinton Pet Vet were always professional. They saved Lizzie’s life several times in the last almost 7 years. She had a chronic illness typical of her breed. It was sad to say good-bye to the staff today. I know they will continue to offer the best care for pets out there. Thank you Dr. Price, and your hardworking staff.
I can not begin to express how thankful I am for Dr. Price and her team. I know that if I ever need to leave my fur babies in their care that they are in good hands… I recently lost my little kitty girl… and her staff was so kind and compassionate through the process. My mother and I even received hugs from a staff member… as her passing was quite a shock. I’m eternally grateful for the care my animals receive here and for the calmness I feel in knowing they are going to safe and well taken care of.
I have 5 cats. 3 that came from the CPV Rescue. They all go to Clinton Pet Vet to see Dr Price. She is the best. Always has time to talk about any problems my furry kids are having. She always keeps me updated when one of them is sick and spending the night. It sets me at ease to know how much Jess and the whole Pet Vet crew care about all animals. And she is not run by a large corporation that tells her what she can do. She owns the practice and runs it.
I am writing this to warn other pet owners after a series of diagnostic errors and a lack of professional communication at Clinton Pet Vet. While I recognize that veterinary medicine is a demanding and difficult field, and I appreciated the convenience of their location and their responsive after hours emergency service, the medical outcomes for my dog, Yoko, were deeply concerning. I moved to Clinton in the spring of 2023 and began taking my 2 dogs to Clinton Pet Vet shortly after. My senior chihuahua mutt, Yoko, was previously diagnosed in 2024 with DCM (enlarged heart) by this vet and placed on 3 medications. On March 20th, 2026, I brought her in because she was struggling to eat her kibble, but was still very interested in food. I was concerned about dental pain. The vet said her teeth looked okay and ordered bloodwork to see if there was an underlying issue. Communication and care: Insensitive Delivery-- On 3/24 I received a brief text message stating Yoko was in renal failure and needed 48 hours of IV fluids. There was no phone call to explain this life-altering diagnosis nor tell me more about how it connected to the symptoms I observed of kibble falling out of her mouth when trying to eat. Lack of Medical Due Diligence--When I asked follow-up questions regarding the diagnosis and treatment and shared concerns, the vet responded defensively rather than explaining the protocol. When I voiced worries about the risks of pushing IV fluids on a dog with DCM (treatment for which requires removing fluids to protect the heart), I didn’t get a reply. I consulted 2 other vets for 2nd and 3rd opinions. They both agreed fluids would be risky for a dog with her heart condition. Misdiagnosis--After seeking these other opinions and eventually taking Yoko to Upstate Veterinary Specialties, nearly two hours away, it was determined by the cardiologist at the hospital that Yoko does NOT have DCM but had a much milder condition called MMVD, or leaky valve. This meant, on the positive side, the ER vets could safely push fluids to flush out her kidneys, but on the negative, that Dr. Price had put Yoko on 2 medications she did not need, 1 of which possibly contributed to her kidney failure. Overlooked Dental Care--I spoke up about Yoko's teeth during each annual visit, because the prior vet we saw when living in North Carolina regularly did cleanings. Dr. Price repeatedly said her teeth were "okay." The emergency specialists identified dental disease as a priority issue that could have been a source of infection, and urged me to schedule a dental cleaning once her kidney disease is stabilized. Callousness--After I sought second opinions and notified the office that I was pursuing a different treatment plan for my hospitalized dog and thanked them for their care, the response was purely transactional. They immediately inactivated my account and ignored the news that Yoko was in the hospital. There was no "we hope she’s okay." As others have commented, the staff here generally lack warmth and are often curt in communication. I got the sense that no one remembered my dogs from visit to visit. As a healthcare professional myself, I am stunned by the lack of clinical transparency and the decision to deliver life-altering diagnoses via text message without a proper consultation or discussion of risks and by such a defensive response when I attempted to follow up. I recognize that veterinary medicine is a high-pressure field and that staff are often spread thin. However, accurate diagnostics, professional communication, and compassion cannot be the trade-off for a busy practice. Because my dog's medical needs were mismanaged, she suffered avoidable stress and health complications. I can no longer trust this clinic with my dogs' care and strongly urge other owners to seek a second opinion for any serious diagnosis.
