Monfort Heights Animal Clinic

We have been taking our dogs there for years. Vets are great. They are very thorough and genuinely seem to care about our animals. We recently brought our dog there for a surgery and it went very well. Very happy with how it turned out. With that being said - the front desk staff is hands-down the worst that I have ever dealt with the exception of Emily. The biggest culprit is the older lady with brown hair. So unnecessarily rude at all times. It is really sad to me that a place we truly trust our animals with employs such nasty people to "welcome"you when you walk through the door. We have spent thousands of dollars on our animals over the past couple of years at this establishment and would do so again because of the great care we know they are getting but you guys really have to do something about the people working your front desk. Nasty looks, rude, back-handed comments, I could go on. It’s been an ongoing issue and I don’t understand it. It’s a shame.

Dr. McBride and his team were incredible and deeply passionate while on our journey with our senior Great Dane. They gave us advice and helped us with him as if he was their own. Their bedside manner is impeccable, and their explanations of things are clear and kind. We love it here and will continue to bring our pets for care. Thank you for all you’ve done.

Confused and misinformed staff re charges and med advice. Today I asked explicitly how much the flu shot was - the person at the desk said it would be 46. I confirmed then with the vet that since the flu booster did not require a vet visit, there would be no charge. When I left, they forgot to charge me for the flu shot. I called to pay and to schedule the booster. I was told it would cost an additional 46. After I complained, they called me back to tell me a booster was not needed. Net - good vet - terrible staff. Going elsewhere.

When looking for a new vet for my puppy, I made an appointment with Monfort Heights Animal Clinic and I never looked back! They take such good care of my dog and now my cat as well. They are always busy but still find time to make us feel comfortable when we call/come in. I’m so thankful to have a trusted vet to come to.

We have been going to Monfort Heights Animal Clinic since they opened in 1974! We have had many pets through the years and they have always had the best care and attention any animal could possibly receive! They are the best! My Gina (pictured) was recently there and she is well on the road to recovery! Thanks Doc!

Do not trust the older McBride. He signed off on a ‘suture’ ACL surgery for my 10 year old Australian Shepherd when he should have had a different surgery for bigger dogs that he could not perform himself. Communication about how this could impact him later in life was completely negligent in my eyes. His life will likely be cut short by a year or more because his back leg does not function well.

I have worked in the vet field for 30+ years & I have never been MORE DISAPPOINTED & UPSET with a front desk staff ever!!! I have been lied to re: leaving me messages about my pets' important lab works & I NEVER received a call back in over a week re: 1 of my cats vomiting roundworms - which is HIGHLY contagious!!!! They told me that they don't have enough vets to be able to get my pet in before 2-3 weeks - 3 different times. They should not be accepting new clients if they can't even see the animals they already have that are sick...PERIOD. It's clearly about getting as much money as possible & not as much about the actual care or concern of the pet. ** I did like Dr. Cavanaugh, who is a relief vet - not one of their 2 regular vets!!!
