Riverwood Veterinary Hospital Dr. Sandy Hazanow

Dr. Sandra Hazanow was the veterinarian for my dogs in San Francisco for over 25 years. I was sad when she left to open her practice in Chico. In all those years, I found her to be highly competent and empathetic, caring not only for the needs of the animals but also sensitive to the needs of the owners. Her approach was always transparent and ethical. She always responds quickly and is generous with her time. Even though she now has a practice in Chico, she remains willing to consult with me regarding my dogs whenever I have concerns. Given the opportunity, I would gladly have her caring for my dogs again.

Extremely clean and professional environment. Staff was absolutely lovely. Excellent communication and pricing was fair! They helped with my sweet pups end of life journey. I couldn’t recommend any other vet more. Everyone was extremely kind and patient. They showered my pup with love and treated us like family. They truly care about animals and you can feel that from the moment you walk in. Thank you Dr. Crowson and Riverwood staff. You all are wonderful.

I took my German Shepherd, Leo, there recently and we loved it! They are lovely, compassionate folks, and took great care of my older guy and all his special digestive needs. They were even able to trim his very overgrown nails, which no one else has been able to do (severely traumatizing for him!) They took good care of me, too. They offered me different options for his severe food allergies and itchy skin. He's very happy to be comfortable in his own skin again, coat growing back beautifully, and I think he likes his tamed nails as well😆

Dr. Sandy Hazeanow and the staff are always wonderful. I cannot tell you how amazing they have been for all of my pets needs. But a few mongjs My puppy got a broken Jaw, Dr Sandy has gone above and beyond caring for my sweet Muffin. Without Dr. Sandy, Muffin may have lost part of her jaw. The staff are exceptional. I really cannot begin to say how much I trust and appreciate them ❤️ I trust them with caring for all of my pets!

Thank you Riverwood staff for all you do! I love the care you have offered for our many cats and our fabulous dog!! You make it so easy to fill our prescription's too!!! You are amazing!

Riverwood has earned my gratitude and appreciation. After a traumatic experience with a different practice we called Riverwood. From reception all of the way back we were shown kindness and understanding. The vet had the best bedside manner of any vet we have been to. She explained the full procedure of saying goodbye to our little man and ensured that we had all options open to us. Once everything was done she even thanked us for being with our family member in his final moments. The practices has earned our business and I would strongly recommend.

Almost killed my dog during a teeth extraction with anesthesia. The dog still needs teeth removed, has permanent liver damage, and we are expected to pay for the extra anesthetic and a whole extra round to do it right this time. Also filtering out all of my reviews. Do not go here if you care about your animals.
