Carpenter Animal Hospital and Pet Inn

We love Carpenter Animal Hospital! We adopted a stray cat (Chief Wellington) who needed a loooot of help with his teeth. Laura helped me get set up with the hospital quickly and Dr. Barrett saw Chief within a week, got me an accurate estimate, and had availability for a dental also within the week! The hospital is clean with a very cute waiting room and is very efficiently run. Would recommend this place to anyone! Happy to have my Chief home and recovering well.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the vet while our Girl Scouts worked on their Pets Badge! Dr. Peace, Yadira, and Kaylie were all fantastic and made this such a fun, educational, and memorable visit for the girls. They were so kind, welcoming, patient, and engaging, and you could truly tell how much they care about both the animals and the community. The girls were fully engaged the entire time, loved seeing and learning about the animals, and had an amazing hands-on educational experience. The staff made everyone feel so comfortable, and even the parents were impressed by how well everything was organized and how much the girls got out of the visit. We are so grateful to Dr. Peace, Yadira, and Kaylie for helping make this such a special experience. Highly recommend this practice, not only for excellent veterinary care, but also for their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to support local youth programs like Girl Scouts!

The team at Carpenter Animal Hospital went above and beyond when I brought in a lost dog today. They immediately paused what they were doing to scan for a microchip and took the time to reach out to the owner and called to update me once the dog was picked up. It was truly heartwarming to see their dedication in getting the dog reunited with her family. I would highly recommend this practice simply based on the amount of care, commitment, compassion, and follow-through I saw today in such a small amount of time. Thank you again! 💓

My dog was an existing patient at Carpenter Animal Hospital. She recently returned home from Norway, and because North Carolina is known for mosquitoes and heartworm risk, it was very important to me that she restart Heartgard immediately upon arrival. Despite already being a patient and previously receiving Heartgard through this clinic, I was told they would not sell it to me unless I scheduled an appointment to have her seen. What made this especially frustrating is that she had just completed extensive international travel health requirements, including veterinary examinations, official paperwork, and documentation showing a recent clean bill of health. I understand clinics have policies, but this felt far less about protecting my dog and far more about forcing an unnecessary office visit before dispensing a basic preventative medication to an established patient. In practice, the refusal delayed timely heartworm prevention and unnecessarily increased my dog’s exposure risk in a state with extremely high mosquito and heartworm prevalence. Because of this, I had to go to another veterinarian to get the medication.

Look if your dog has a chronic problem of too much money around. This is the place for you. So far we're about $1,000 in to find out tgey did not have any issues. Also after refusing another $1,000 in diagnostics. The staff is very nice. And they do a lot of good work for the rescues. But just know if you make less than 100k a year this is not the vet for you.

Very caring Veterinarians and staff here! My pup luuuuuuvs going to daycare and it is so convenient to have her wonderful Vet Dr Terrell there too (helps keep the vet visit anxiety at a minimum). I know my pup is in good hands while she’s there. Owning a pet is very expensive these days and giving my pup the best w daycare and health/wellness services at Carpenter Animal hospital is money well spent!

Great veterinarians and all staff have always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I thank God for your entire team and taking such good care of our fur baby!
