Camarillo Veterinary Hospital

I would rate the Camarillo Veterinary Hospital zero stars if google would allow. Please consider one of the dozens of other vets in Ventura County before bringing your beloved pet here. We had a standard spayed procedure here on our healthy Golden Retriever and have nothing but problems since. A couple days post surgery I noticed a strange bump on the incisions and brought my dog in for a follow up. The vet informed me that it looked ok and that there maybe a minor inflection and prescribed antibiotics. Fast forward less than a week, my dog was in need of emergency surgery to remove a total blockage in her intestines due to inattention by the vet when placing the incisions. This surgery cost north of $5,000. A few years later my dog once again had a blockage in her intestines due to the fact that she now has a narrower section that without the previous incident would have naturally passed. This latest incident required a second emergency surgery that cost us an additional $10,000. I have been extremely patient with them and waited several years before posting this review. After the most recent incident I decided that people need to be informed to make the best decision for your beloved pets. Once again please reconsider, there are many other options for veterinary services in our area.

Dr. Chong is incredibly gentle, and you can truly tell she has a huge heart and puts the well-being of the animal first. The staff were also very supportive and helpful throughout our visit. It’s such a relief to find a vet who is both professional and genuinely caring. Highly recommend!

I am grateful for the care being given to my pup here. Dr. Chong is the best Vet Doctor in town! She goes above and beyond her duty attending to the care and well-being of your fur baby. And all the staff are compassionate, accomodating and professional. The charges are reasonably fair and considerate. Do not go anywhere else for your pup or kitty’s vet care! First visit here. Should've came to this vet 15 plus year ago . If you are in need of a new vet stop looking , call them and wait patiently for appointments. I transferred here from Moorpark and won't look back .

Great place to take your pet for all needs. Doctors are all very friendly and don’t pressure you to "buy" anything. They are here to help and not sell unnecessary products. Love this vet.

Doc is kind but rushed appointment. Did not take my pets temperature? First time I've been to the vet where they didn't check vital signs. The receptionist did not greet or acknowledge me and my pet until after sitting for 10 minutes. Building is old and outdated. Overall I paid $65 for a wellness exam but I felt it was not worth it. I had a better experience at a different veterinarian office but I basically paid for a wellness exam twice. I wish I didn't go here and waste my money.

Dr. Chong is the most compassionate and thorough Veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her staff is kind and caring and the Doctor is as competent as they come. Thank you Camarillo Veterinary Hospital for keeping Sugaree in tip top shape ❤️.
