Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Clinton Hill

I’ve been coming here for years now and have recommended Pure Paws to everyone I know with a pet. A few friends have made the switch, and all who have are glad they did! Appointments are easy to book, the techs and vets answer all of your questions, and it feels like they really care about you as a client! They prioritize your pets’ safety and comfort and the prices feel fair for most services— often significantly less than other vets in the area. I’ll be coming here as long as I have pets and live in Brooklyn. Would highly, highly recommend to anyone, especially if you’ve had bad experiences with other vets and are ready for a place where you and your pet feel valued and cared for!

I will never have anything bad to say about Pure Paws Clinton Hill. If I ever have a bad experience here it will be because they caught ME slipping. The front desk people are extremely professional, patient, and nice. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. The vet techs are super helpful. All of the doctors I’ve worked with have been amazing and really took the time to answer my questions and help me. They are amazing at providing you will all the resources you could need, and even share with you the cost breakdown of everything they’re going to do so that you can approve it, and then you’re not shocked by the bill at the end. Needless to say, I will be taking my dog here for as long as we live in the city. And if I ever move away from the area, you bet I’ll be making the trek over to make sure my baby keeps receiving the top quality care she gets here.

I brought my cat in with an urgent issue, his toenail had split down the nail bed and he was bleeding, and I was really worried. I hadn’t found a vet in the city yet and was especially nervous going in, but Dr. Burg was able to see us quickly and was calm, reassuring, and so gentle with him. She explained what was happening and that he would need a procedure with sedation, which would normally be very stressful, but she made the entire experience feel manageable and routine. She gave us thorough instructions on post-procedure care and our cat healed perfectly, and I’m incredibly grateful for her care. I’ll definitely be taking all my pets to Dr. Burg going forward, I couldn’t recommend her more.

Another terrific experience at Pure Paws. Dr Liz Burg was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as usual, and put our minds at ease. We have been bringing our Cats to Pure Paws of Clinton Hill for well over a decade now, and will continue to do so.

I have been a client of Pure Paws (formerly Brooklyn Cares) since it opened in the early Aughts. They have cared for three of my cats (two whom have since passed away, one humanely at their offices and the other assisted at home). I moved out of the neighborhood in 2019 but keep returning because their vets and vet techs are both knowledgeable and caring. They are transparent about services and costs, and do not try to upsell. Their goal is the welfare of your pets. Highly recommend.

I have two dogs under 10lbs and have seen a slew of different DVMs here at pure paws since 2020 as vets have come and go. Five years later, I feel obligated to leave a review for Dr. Torre Muhlbach. You can tell she genuinely loves her job in the way she goes above and beyond for her patients and their humans. She’s fear free certified (not a req @ pure paws but always a plus) and doesn’t rush to exam. She prioritizes getting to know the dog by sitting on the floor to get at their level, give treats, ask about temperament, etc. This was my second dental cleaning at pure paws, first time with Dr. Muhlbach and I refuse to let anyone else near my pets. Dr. Muhlbach is extremely thoughtful, kind, thorough and patient. Out of all the DVMs we’ve seen throughout the years, (bond vet, heart of Brooklyn, blue pearl), her caliber of professionalism and care don’t even compare. Her communication is on point and I wish she would open a veterinary school to teach other vets! All animals and their owners deserve this type of treatment and veterinary experience. Thank you Dr. Muhlbach; pure paws is lucky to have you on their team.

Pure Paws will always, always, always be my vet. Every single person there treats you with such care. I am a very anxious dog Mom and they are always so kind and patient with all my questions and nerves. They never upsell or overcharge and you always know exactly what you're going to pay for before services are done. I love Pure Paws so much!
