Dr. Martinez is the best. Been seeing her since i got my dog and Shes so sweet with my puppy. Bella doesnt love the vet but I know shes in good hands with Dr. Martinez and the staff. It is a bit hard to schedule an urgent appointment but I still like this office. I def recommend the membership you will save in the long run and always have a doctor to take your dog too.
We’ve been coming here for 4 years since my dog was a pup. From the moment we show up, we’re treated warmly and with respect. Any questions we have are answered thoroughly.
I booked an appointment 2-3 weeks ago for early Jan, and just received a voicemail that the appointment slot was no longer available. No problem - called them back, lady on the call was really patient. Turns out their appointment system online is fake and completely not tied to their actual practice's system, next slot was 2 weeks out from the slot I requested, which wouldn't work for me since my dog's vaccines would have expired by then and she goes to doggy daycare regularly. I had previously used Banfield in WA when I was moving to NYC, for a doctor's note for the airlines to bring my cat over and the slot I booked was the one I got. Going back to just using Vetco, which has a really easy online booking system for both vet and grooming, and so far been very reliable.
If i could give the Banfield Pet Hospital on Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn, NY 0 stars I would. The first time I came, they couldn’t find my appointment even though I had already been rescheduled via a phone call after initially making the appointment online. Their system was down and it didn’t catch new patients. Fine. I come back one week later during the scheduled time made in person and they say it will be a 30-45minute wait. Again, fine, but you could at least call and give me a heads up before I come all the way in in the middle of my workday. Terrible terrible terrible. Will never come back here.
Great in person service, less than subpar customer service on the phone. I was held back by work so I called 1 hour before closing to get my cat's prescription transferred. Instead I was left on hold for nearly 40 minutes and they hung up on me without explanation. I called again and I was connected in under 5 minutes by a staff that seemed annoyed I even called. They then told me its too late to transfer the prescription. When I asked whether its safe to wait, they just said they can't do anything with no other reccomendation provided. It seems like I mean nothing to them. I'll just take my business and pet somewhere that actually values customers and saving lives.
I’ve been with Banfield for little over 12 years and after moving to New York, I unfortunately had not had the best experiences until my visit to the Brooklyn location. I want to sincerely thank Dr. Bailey Percival for her care. Yesterday was incredibly difficult as we discussed the quality of life of my sweet Penny, who has been rapidly declining and truly felt supported by her and her staff. Thank you again for your compassion and empathy ❤️🩹
Don’t expect to be seen anywhere near your appointment time here. I’ve been a few times and each time, we wait a minimum of an hour after our appointment time to be seen, and often longer than an hour. Additionally, they market special appointments as "in-room" but you have to hand your pet off to them; you’re not in the room at all. They give zero apologies for being late or misleading appointment types. It’s a very "well it is what it is and you gotta be okay with it" attitude here. I’ve been to other Banfield locations that have been great. Don’t waste your time going to this location.
