This practice is really something special! I have a dog with lots of medical needs so we visit multiple times each month. Every single staff member I have encountered has been kind and helpful; however, I would love to specifically shoutout Andrea. She is so gentle, kind, patient, and loving to my dog Saydee. She always has a smile on her face and a treat in her pocket! She even sent a few home with a prescription I picked up. It means more to me than I can express that I don’t have to worry when I leave my dog in her care because I know for a fact she is treating my dog like she is her very own! She is the kind of employee that makes BAHR a wonderful place. Thank you to all the veterinarians, technicians, and reception staff that works so hard every day!

These are people that genuinely care about the animals they treat. I am so grateful for the care they gave my baby dog. I called as I was pulling in to see if I could bring her right then. I thought she was having a heat stroke. The lady on the phone said yes! They met me in the parking lot and took her back be examined immediately. They didn't demand money before checking to see if she was OK. They cared for her well being first then when they did give the price it was very reasonable. I appreciate and applaud this place and the people. I recommend everyone here. Thank you again!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Birmingham Animal Hospital & Resort. They have provided exceptional care to my babies, Satch, Callie, and Roxxi over the years. Dr. Bellman and the entire staff are compassionate, knowledgeable, dedicated and attentive. They really go above and beyond for both their patients and owners. You can tell they truly care about every animal they treat. They showed our family so much kindness and compassion when we lost our sweet Satch last year, and I will never forget that. They have also saved my girl Callie’s life twice. Once during an emergency spleen removal surgery, and again recently when she developed pancreatitis. Both times, Callie received incredible care, attention, and treatment, and I truly believe she would not be here today without them. Their boarding facility is also amazing. It gives me such peace of mind knowing my girls can stay together and be cared for by people I completely trust. It is the only place I feel comfortable leaving my babies overnight. Finding a veterinarian you trust with your pets is priceless, and Birmingham Animal Hospital & Resort has earned our trust and gratitude a thousand times over. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch veterinary care with a staff that treats your pets like family.

My husband and I are new to Birmingham and we did not have an established vet. My cat had an emergency that BAHR handled quickly (within the hour I called) and with so much care. They followed up with us multiple times after his surgery and are so thoughtful and kind. I’m so grateful Louie is under their care!!

Birmingham Animal Hospital has officially become one of Ziggy’s favorite places on earth, which is saying something, because this miniature dachshund has extremely high standards when it comes to his favorite places—usually only met by sunny windowsills and freshly unfolded laundry.. Dr. Ham has a magical sort of energy that transforms Ziggy from "nervous wiener dog" to "confident king of the exam table." She kneels down, says his name, and BOOM—instant wiggle overload and a tail wagging at warp speed. She’s warm, patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and somehow manages to treat Ziggy’s health concerns and his enormous personality at the same time. Every visit is smooth, professional, and filled with genuine care. If your pet deserves the best (and a team that greets them like a celebrity), this is absolutely the place. Ziggy gives it two paws up, a happy howl, and a very enthusiastic tail wag. 🐾

I called on a Friday afternoon after my dog's regular vet in Tuscaloosa was booked heading into the weekend, and they fit us in, even though my dog was not an established patient here. There was a base $75 exam fee which I think is reasonable for a new patient. We saw Dr. Jen Ham who took her time with not only me and my husband, by explaining various treatment options, but with our sick dog to make sure she felt comfortable. The RXs we needed were filled in-house in less than 15 minutes, which was very convenient! Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and professional, and the vet techs were stellar. Overall, I was impressed with Birmingham Animal Hospital and would come back.

I'm a truck driver that was layed-over for a few hours in Birmingham... with my 5mos old Pug puppy that scratched her eye while playing with a twig. This place gave us an immediate appointment and treated us both with kindness and expertise. Both the Doc and assistant obviously love animals! They are my top go-to people if ever Margie gets ill within 100 miles of Birmingham- thanks.
